One might also note that the Israelis continue to supply power to various Arab areas, including the northern part of Gaza...

Could this have been in response?

Tensions have existed between Egypt and Gaza's Hamas Govt since the days of previous Egyptian President Morsi's downfall. Morsi, Egypt's first popularly elected President came from the Muslim Brotherhood, which has traditionally had close links with Hamas, some of whose roots can be traced back to the MB.

With Morsi's ousting in a military coup, relations chilled and have remained chilly ever since.

It seems too quick of a response if it was a response.

Yes. The Palestinians are political fodder for Arab hatred of Israel. In that interest, their wellbeing is shall we say...expendable. 'Twas ever thus.

Why did Egypt cut power to Gaza? Apparently, for non-payment of electricity bills.

After reading several blogs, message boards, and other obviously biased articles, it seems that Hamas expects the PA to pay the power bills, but there is some sort of tax dispute between the two, leading to the PA not paying the electricity bills.

I also read that Egypt only provides 8% of the power usage in Gaza, while Israel supplies 62% and Gaza's only plant supplies 30%. None of those numbers should be taken as gold standard, as I didn't dig in and verify (mostly because the %-ages don't really matter in this instance).

I have no idea if the PA is supposed to pay Egypt for electricity, or if Hamas does so directly. However...
If the PA is supposed to pay, then, why isn't it paying? If the PA isn't paying because Hamas owes on some tax bill to the PA, then this is on Hamas for not paying the taxes.

If Hamas is supposed to pay Egypt directly, then this is on Hamas.

This is no different than what I would go through if I didn't pay my electricity bills.

The civilians are getting fucked every which way in Gaza.

There is no evidence the plane was brought down from the sky by a terrorist attack, a bored US warship captain and so on.

Most likely it was a fire or electrical problem or rogue UFO.

We've been over that already:
