He did hire me and yes, I loved it. Part of the reason is because I was damn good at the job for which I was hired, it was an increase in salary doing the exact same thing I was already being underpaid for so the fair wage was very enticing but the bottom line, I wouldn't have moved away for a job.. I moved away for him.

It is in the best interest of the owner/master to treat their slave as an employee with all the benefits and rights that any other employee in that same position would receive.
You are Master/slave AND Employer/employee. The law will look at how you treat your employee so CYA.. treat your employee right.
What you do elsewhere is your business but treating your slave well would also be of benefit.
