Actually me and my old roommates did that for a while, we had a spare room that was furnished (the previous roommate took off and left everything behind), so instead of looking for a new roommate we let a series of homeless women stay in that room to get back on their feet.
It didn't last long as the building got sold out from under us and we all went our separate ways, but in total we helped 4 women get off the street.

Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) proved she has no tolerance for transphobia.

Lofgren criticized the submitted testimony of Gail Heriot, of the United States Commission on Civil Rights, who spoke as a witness during a Wednesday House Judiciary Committee hearing on regulatory overreach.

Heriot argued that trans people shouldn’t be accepted as the gender they identify with, saying, “If I believe that I am a Russian princess, that doesn’t make me a Russian princess, even if my friends and acquaintances are willing to indulge my fantasy.”

Lofgren was not having it.

“I’ve got to say, I found this rather offensive, and it says to me that the witness really doesn’t know anything and probably has never met a transgender child who is going through, in almost every case, a very difficult experience finding themselves,” Lofgren said.

“I think it’s very regrettable that comment was put into the record, and I think it’s highly offensive,” Lofgren added.

When Heriot tried to respond, Lofgren shut her down.

“I think you’re a bigot, lady, I think you are an ignorant bigot,” Lofgren said.

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) halted Lofgren’s remarks, declaring her “out of order.” But the congresswoman didn’t back down from her criticism.

“We allow witnesses to say offensive things, but I cannot allow that kind of bigotry to go into the record unchallenged,” Lofgren said.

No, not even remotely.
I am saying that if she wants to share her home with homeless people that is fine, she seems to be a nice person. On the other hand being forced to by the government is onerous.

How many of your daughters, nieces, lil sisters, etc been exposed by someone's wang in a public toilet?

Like it or not, statistically proven, it's het men that are most likely to be molesters. I was more afraid of sending my son into a men's room when he was small than I ever was about him being around a trans* person that just needed to pee.

The concern is not so much that women will be attacked by transgenders but that

A It is basically indecent to have mixed gender restrooms

and

B That none trans perverts will use this as cover.

This has been stated repeatedly by many people and yet for the most part people who favor an restroom open door policy insist that it is simply a matter of bigottry against trans.
Why not just have businesses install plumbing in the middle of the store with open air stalls .
