Now we get some more policy. Deregulate the fossil fuel industry.

Get ready for higher oil and gas prices. "I will allow the XL pipeline, and push for the export of oil."

Never mind the fact that we've heard for 40-50 years how America is supposed to deregulate the oil industry to be 'oil independent.' Now as a domestic market, that is presumably to keep all of US oil...in the US market.

Now 'they' are to get all of the oil 'they' can out of the ground and be allowed...to export it. The US is already the world's largest exporter of gasoline accomplishing the task of at least trying to keep he the US price as high as possible.

So what will happen to the price of oil ? Maybe the speculators (the 'pricers' of commodities) have already 'discounted' the price of oil whether the US exports more or not, [it] being traded in an international market.

What say you ?

Maybe he's got some Saudi telling him to devalue the American oil industry so that they can start buying that up? He gets a lot of business for his hotel chain from rich arabs, or at least he did until he started shooting his mouth off about moslems. Perhaps this is a conciliatory gesture...

Well, no pipeline so there's that, maybe more offshore drilling. Export oil for sure. Maybe just do away with safety rules on platforms altogether. Fuck 'em if more get blown up. Maybe even 'deregulation' will be shown to be code for even more tax code bennies.

We know Trump is as big a for-profit, rent-seeking whore as B. Clinton and GWB ever were. Well maybe GWB helped make Trump richer. hard to tell without seeing his taxes.
