Imagine IF America's National Anthem was in Native Indian language.

Might as fucking well be the job most yanks do of failing to sing it...

So? What if ...?

The anthem of Austria-Hungary (before 1919) was sung in 14 (fourteen; all officially recognised languages in the realm) languages.

WhoreMods -> RE: Say it! Who are you for? Why? (6/15/2016 11:04:23 AM)

I was thinking more of the problem people have with the range of notes, to be honest.

Edwird -> RE: Say it! Who are you for? Why? (6/15/2016 12:04:00 PM)

So you are saying that the typical British citizen is more capable than the typical American citizen of singing an anthem (or whatever song) spanning the range of an octave and a fifth?

Edwird -> RE: Say it! Who are you for? Why? (6/15/2016 12:06:10 PM)

"God Save the Queen" encompasses a minor seventh, half that.

WhoreMods -> RE: Say it! Who are you for? Why? (6/15/2016 12:14:04 PM)

That was my point: most national anthems don't cover a full octave. I'm not saying that there's less Americans per capita who can manage that, just that there's a minority of people from anywhere who can, dig?

Edwird -> RE: Say it! Who are you for? Why? (6/15/2016 2:31:22 PM)

"God bless Americaaaa,

The land of Ameeerican Idol, god bring us another adverrrt!"

(Does the 'chokes on own words' thing, literally ... )

OK, sorry, ... you were saying?

I tried out for one of those advert jingle shops, and they told me; 'the more patriotic the better!'

Some of us are just not cut out for higher culture.

Edwird -> RE: Say it! Who are you for? Why? (6/15/2016 2:35:34 PM)

And then, in the lyrics department, I might have ignored the sober and sagacious comments of some forum expert types; "Your writing sucks!"

Actually yes, seeing as the tune is that of a British drinking song, see the trick is to be drunk when singing it.

Edwird -> RE: Say it! Who are you for? Why? (6/15/2016 3:44:30 PM)

It was the 'club song' of a "singing club," so, yes, one might expect better performance from a group such as that.

Not a good choice for a national anthem! No argument here.

I was just curious why an immigrant, in a country of ~73% immigrants, was so vocal about promoting Trump because he wants to kick out immigrants.

I have nothing against natives wanting to kick out the chinese during the years chinese were migrating in. But they just didn't. Just like when their country got taken by the British, they didn't do shit to take it back. I think it's their country, if they don't want to welcome the chinese, I am gonna respect that. Like seriously, I don't think there is anything wrong at all for any country not wanting immigrants. Their choice. If all chinese got banned from entering America, I wouldn't even be upset. You won't hear me bitching about how unfair or whatever. Their turf, their rules. And it's not my country, so it's like, whatever. No big deal. One less country to travel to, that's all. I mean Saudi Arabia practically bans the whole world from entering their country unless on official business and do I give a shit?
So I dunno what non-american born muslims are upset about.

Edwird -> RE: Say it! Who are you for? Why? (6/16/2016 3:12:16 AM)

You say you don't care one way or another, but you mention many times that you like Trump because he will kick out immigrants.

Just pointing that out.

I don't care if immigrants are banned from entering the country. Which is what Trump is proposing, a certain type of immigrants considered possible endangerment to the country, temporary ban until he can figure out how to vet them properly.

I mean, you know in Thailand, Chinese Tourist are banned from Temples? Because of their backwards behaviour and disrespect to property. That's okay! I'm cool with it! I may not be PRC but maybe I am considered Chinese so banned too. And all good!

And what I really like is how the China government respond to it, by telling their citizens to be more respectful of cultures in other countries and try to do things their way when visiting their country.

I'd love to see Muslim country government do that. Even print booklets to educated every single person leaving their country which was what China tried to do.

I've heard there is going to be a 'second coming' but it isn't going to be anything at all like anything...any earthling thinks it is.

Yes I remember Justin's father too. I couldn't stand the guy and I think his kid is just as useless. Justin will lead this country into nothing but economic ruin, just

like his old man did.

Yea...we can tell too. They are down to only 99 reasons why living in Canada is.....? HERE

I'm for Trump!
To me, this is a man who been through 3 marriages, and still able to raise healthy wonderful children, keep his family close. To me, that speaks volumes about the kind of man he is. I usually judge a person alot by how their relationship with their children is like. I automatically think less of someone if they had terrible relationship with their kids. I think that kind of success is bigger than any kind of wealth or business success he will ever make. Building a family that is loving towards each other, siblings that are supportive towards each other and are in harmony and just, you can feel the love his kids have for him.

And I am watching him, go against all odds right now, despite everybody trying to knock him down and getting so close to become President.

Very admirable.

He cuts the checks too.

Unless they happen to be a judge who's presiding over a case where he's the defendant, of course...

Yea, because mexicans in general are outrage about him wanting to ban illegal. And the judge is affiliated with La Raza, which defends illegal immigrants. What is pretty huge cultural difference in the US and in my country is, is that, everybody is against illegal immigrants here. Everytime when an illegal is caught and deported. We cheer! It's good news! Screw anybody who wants to enter our country illegally! But over there, it seems to be the lib cause to feel sorry for illegals and kinda close an eye to it, and just let those who bother risking their life to get over, come over and leave them alone. It's like, exactly what Trump say, then what's the point of even having a border. Just be like Europe. Open borders between Mexico and US. And let it be. OR if one wants to regulate it, regulate it properly.

.....and Obama has deported more people (Deporter in Chief) than any previous pres. and by a wide margin.

BTW, who are considered the immigrants in your country, the Chinese or the Malayans?
Who are considered the natives in your country, the Chinese or the Malayans?

Obviously the natives are the Muslims. And the Chinese are the immigrants.
We took over the country! I mean, technically, the Brits took over the country. But the Muslims didn't bother taking it back from the Brits. So we Chinese bothered to do so, and it became ours. They could have first dips, but they didn't do anything. They were not even interested in claiming their country back for themselves. And I'm happy that we took a Muslim country and turn it into a freedom of religion country. Except the stupid Muslims still prevent their own from converting out by exerting their own consequences within their own community. And out of respect, they being natives, we kinda don't bother what they do within themselves.
But we certainly take care of them very well. They get free education, loads of help. And like the most pampered race ever among all of the races. The smallest minority are the Indians and they don't even get those benefits. This free education thingy is only exclusive to the Malay race. And we even made our national anthem in THEIR language.

Imagine IF America's National Anthem was in Native Indian language. And everybody who doesn't speak it has to learn the words and the meanings and sing it everyday in school.

Actually...In 1819, Sir Stamford Raffles founded colonial Singapore as a trading post of the East India Company; after the company collapsed, the islands were ceded to Britain and became part of its Straits Settlements in 1826.

.....it's easier than that...one octave total. Just found one in C that went from G to G so.....? American anthem that is.
