During several hospital stays, I've simultaneously been on antibiotics and probiotics.

That always made me chuckle.

You understand the rationale, right?

I take a probiotic every morning. If I go on antibiotics, I double up my daily dosage. I've had enough issues with antibiotics to do what I can to minimize the problem.

Another interesting little tidbit that usually looks quite odd is that one of the best remedies for loose stool is more fiber, and one of the best remedies for constipation is... more fiber. Until you dig in and see the former requires a boost in soluble fiber and the latter requires a boost in insoluble fiber, the answer isn't really clear.
