ORIGINAL: formerlyTPEowned I know the feeling but wonder id many diagnosis are actually made up to justify a next to useless yet dangerous medical specialities existence. Over the last 27 years I have been diagnosed with many different so called disorders. Here they are in year of diagnosis order: Paranoid personality disorder 27, Nightmare disorder 25, Schizoid personality disorder 23, Antisocial personality disorder 21,Avoidant personality disorder 19,Alcoholic hallucinosis 18 (I do not drink any Alcohol I am a temperance fellow), Bipolar disorder 17, Borderline personality disorder 16, Amnestic disorder 15 (I do not have goddamn Amnesia).Shared psychotic disorder 12 (What the hell is that for christ's sake?), Persecutory delusion 11 (Now that is no illusion I am persecuted), Maladaptive Daydreaming 9 (What the fuck is that for heavens sake?),Communication disorder 7, (Another what the fuck again here?), Histrionic personality disorder 4, Grandiose delusions 2, (I swear that I am not Napoleon honest.) Nobody can have that many psychiatric disorders surely? They make new one's up every time I have a outpatient visit. There are three major (that are frequently seen together) and the rest are symptoms of the three majors. I agree wth the others that you'd probably be better off by doing some inpatient which would give them a more consistent experience with you. I'm also going to say that 1) you're taking words out of the diagnostic terms as literal layman terms, when the actual word use in medical terms isn't quite the same. 2) If you don't know what a diagnosis is, you should be asking for explanations. 3) This post comes across as combatitive rather than a desire to actually know what is going on...and that's on you. If you want to gain understanding or some forward movement, you need to be an active participant.
