Too many people believe that in the early 60's, news was reported truthfully...a "golden age".
Those same people need to read a book.
(At least one).
Check Walter Cronkite's broadcast about how Tet proved we were beaten and years later he admitted that it was a hugh military victory for our side but was still proud that he had convinced Americans that we had lost massively and with that lie turned many agaisnt the war.
Journalism has never been dedicated to balance, but the variety of views tended to creat balance.
