(In fact, Ian Fleming added something to the next Bond novel he did after the first couple of films came out that the character was half Scottish with a Dutch mum or something. I don't think anything about an accent was mentioned before then.)

I don't why I had in my head Connery was Welsh, one of those 'myths in youth' things, I guess. Oh, but what damage to the national peace score, nonetheless! He did great voice-over work in his latter years, according to the pro audio site I attend. Just the voice and prosody alone (in his case) are what producers call 'Gold.' And if you hear examples, you'd understand why. Such examples not able to render here, sorry.

If it's a ranking, it's a comparison. Some can see that, some can't. Don't push mental boundaries too much, there.
