Why is it that when you sign into the profile side, it also signs you into the forum side? BUT, when you sign into the forum side, it does not sign you into the profile side? If the two sides are separate, why aren't they completely separate instead of being connected in one way and not in the other? Clear as mud?

Although the issue does not keep *me* up at night, my annoyance with the inconsistancies is similar. i enter the password to login on the 'other side', and when i hop over to the forum, i am logged in as a guest. i changed the password while at the forum one time (... & was issued a randomly generated series of charactors of which i find near to impossible to memorize), only to find that it does not automatically change it on the other side as well. The result: a different password for each. i have to login at the forum manually whenever i come from the other side. It's an annoyance at best. i've not lost a wink of sleep over it though. i'd love to see an option where changing a password would allow the users/members, themselves, the opportunity to indicate exactly what the new password would be.

NOTE: This thread topic might be better received if posted as a thread at the '
[System Issues and Ideas] Feature Suggestions for CollarMe.com' section of the forum. It's possible that the issue might not have been brought to the attention of those who may need to know in order to correct it, if it is even possible to fix.

It has to do with the way that the Server was set up for Collarme in the beginning on the other side. The forums software and chat software and other * perks* dident exsist and were added at a latter time from the main part of Collarme hence the reason why as things were added it also became a part of the original however the board has a seperate setup so signing into this area does not automatically set you up in all like the big guys do {Yahell, AOLueeee, or MSN}
And its wholly a part of ASPPlayground.NET in which collarme runs off of.
I personally like it the way it is set up. Being here since its beginning I guess I am biased in how I feel about it and wouldent want to see it changed in any way. Wellllll there is one slight change I would make but it is soooo insignificant that Ill not even mention it ....whispers java. JMO

Miss cynnacent,

This is really a question about why it is thus, not a suggestion for change. A while ago, the Mods complained about people posting questions in the System Issues and Ideas section instead of contacting the System and asking. That's why I didn't post there. When I sign into the profile side, it also signs me into the forum side.. automatically. So, if I just look on the profile side and then log out and get off the computer, I'm STILL logged into the forum side even though I didn't come over here. That seems strange to me. If I log into the forum side first, I'm NOT logged into the profile side, which makes sense. I don't understand why it's a two way street going from there to here and a one way street going from here to there. Knowhutimean?

If you wish to, you can opt out of that by
disabling the cookies from being saved on the forum side.

1. On your computer, use the search the C:\ drive for the file:
[email protected]. (be sure to type *your* collarme nick/ID NOT "USERNAME").
2. The file is a cookie. DELETE that file.

A cookie is a file saved to your computer which may save your password information should you choose the option. The file allows for your ID and password to be stored, and automatically signs on/logs you on at a particular web site. If you have selected the option 'save as cookie' upon login, or 'save this password on my computer' at any time in the past upon logging onto collarme the automatic login is enabled. See my post above please, as i have provided info there already regarding the name of the collarme cookie file, and it's location (specifically how to manually delete them ... good idea if you wish to clear the collarme cookies exclusively rather than ALL of the cookies for other sites which may be stored on your computer as well.).

Well, I tried and that file doesn't exist. I'm PRETTY sure I chose the 'do not save cookie' option where available. It's just an anomoly. I'll recover shortly. Thanks for your help.
