Not to worry, these nice, civilised people will be coming to your country soon. Sweden learned their lesson, so will you. You think just because someone walks upright they are a person and not an animal ? You will be forced to reconsider that opinion if you live long enough.
It's perfectly plausible that, if the Orlando lunatic was acting out of gay hate and self loathing, he would want to dress his actions up in a manner that would be more acceptable to himself, a manner that some people would regard as heroic, a manner that would enable the more extreme and fundamentalist varieties of Islam would deem him a 'martyr'.
I am not discounting the possibility that he was acting in concert with IS. All I am pointing out is that a connection with IS has not yet been established to the satisfaction of the investigating authorities. So until the evidence decides the matter one way or another, that connection remains speculative. Equally, until the evidence decides the matter one way or another, the possibility that his 'connection' with IS is merely window dressing cannot be eliminated.
However the gay hate/homophobic element of this outrage seems to be indisputable. The shooter chose as his target out of all the potential targets available to him, a gay club. A club where he was known to many of the patrons. His sexuality is ambiguous and even his ex-wife isn't prepared to say that he isn't gay (and she of all people would know). Whichever way you look at it, the gay hate factor is unavoidable.
So I am urging that, among the actions taken to counter this type of outrage in the future, some serious anti-homo- and queer-phobia program needs to be included and prioritised. I am perfectly happy with other actions being taken, but am insisting that this particular aspect of the tragedy needs urgent attention.

You do realise that this shooter was born in New York City don't you? No immigration ban would have prevented him doing what he did. He was a home grown phenomenon.
