Though wile we're here, I must say that US teachers' utter slackness in omitting the comma after the penultimate item in a list of nouns at the end of a sentence always bugged the bejezus out me at earliest age. "Oxford comma" guy here, all the way. But I didn't even know that term existed until ~ 5 years ago!
