assume I agree with you that the slave holders were big proponents of the 2nd amendment. their reasoning likely could be, and very well might have been, having guns allows them to be tyrants over their slaves.
now--and here's the rub Einstein---resisting tyranny is also one reason the founders give for the second amendment.
so, and here's the conclusion, read it many times if you need to---the reasons are the same between old slave holders, and for private citizens from the time of the amendment onwards; so you cannot accept the one and use it as an example, and then reject the other.
disabuse yourself of your own ignorance.
