quote:

WASHINGTON — A federal judge on Tuesday night struck down an Obama administration regulation on the use of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, for oil and gas on public lands, a blow to President Obama’s muscular stand on the extraction of fossil fuels on government lands.

The rule, released by the Interior Department in March of last year and scheduled to take effect this Friday, was designed to increase the safety of fracking. It would have required companies to comply with federal safety standards in the construction of fracking wells, and to disclose the use of some chemicals in the fracking process.

Judge Scott W. Skavdahl of Federal District Court in Wyoming ruled that the Interior Department lacked the authority from Congress to issue the regulation, and also noted that fracking was already subject to other regulations under state and federal law.

Administration overstepping authority seems to be a pattern. I have no doubt this will go forward to the 10th circuit. I think the District Court ruling will be upheld.

No worries. Either Hilary or Trump will frack away, and you'll be able to burn the water in your faucet anywhere in the country.

Nestle will love it.

Why are you against this?

Surely you can see how completely fucking outrageous it is to require corporations to abide by federal safety rules?

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Fracking - Another Obama Loss (6/23/2016 12:10:37 AM)

There are waterways here, that you can already set light to. All down to fracking. Land that is total fucked for the same reason with the shit that has percolated through it. Maybe the bastards who do the fracking should be made to live next to the wells and drink the water in the wells, bores and waterways, that they say is fine and dandy for human consumption. Aye, there's the rub.....................they ain't bloody human.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Fracking - Another Obama Loss (6/23/2016 12:11:48 AM)

and no Thompson, before you ask, I am NOT going to provide cites or any other damn thing. D.I.Y.

A doctor Rodriguez petitioned the courts in PA to allow a variance so he could discuss these chemicals with his renal patient about their effect on their kidney function.

He was summarily dismissed, proving who these motherfuckers really work for.

I mean really, doctors are not allowed to discuss these fracking chemicals with patients whose kidneys they have destroyed ?

But that is the law. Comrade. It's like the Soviets moved in and took over. Well, the US has always been for sale. Fucking sickening. Shit like this should make you lock and load.

But it won't. Like one of the founders said, people will put up with this shit as long as they can, and then it is violence. Not in so many words but that was the gist of it.

T^T

MrRodgers -> RE: Fracking - Another Obama Loss (6/23/2016 1:03:34 AM)

More confirmation of what I've been trying to inform people. The capitalist is here to make some fucking money and [he] pretty much doesn't give a damn how he goes about doing it.

Pepsi as well as Nestle will love the 'new' water. Could be though that bottled water is headed for more than 40% tap water on average...if they can find it and clean it up cheap enough.

Staleek -> RE: Fracking - Another Obama Loss (6/23/2016 2:51:55 AM)

How dare Obama insist that corporations actually tell people what chemicals they're pumping into the ground.

And asking them to comply with safety standards? That's definitely overstepping things. He'll be wanting to start a war about non-existent weapons of mass destruction next!

ChrchofDrk -> RE: Fracking - Another Obama Loss (6/23/2016 3:16:44 AM)

you drive a car or truck. you need gas or diesel. you're as much a part of the problem as any of them. Having worked for Dresser Titan and Haliburton. Having fracked many a site (drove and operated a pump truck) I can safely say yes we will frack and we will all consume the product. Care to change it? Boycott it for real. Stop driving your cars and heating your homes with fossil burning fuels. There are alternatives out there

You missed the key.
They are already governed by set of federal safety and operating regulations, this was going to have them trying to function under two different sets of rules governed by two different agencies.

Corporations cannot do two things at once, how do they frack and drill?

Sorry but I would hope we don't live in a dictatorship. Overstepping authority is bad no matter which administration it is.

Just curious.

If Obama banned people from trying to breathe underwater would you sit in your bathtub trying to inhale the H2O?

It appears from this that you are in favor of the regulation but not the method it was imposed. Is that your point?

The key is that you are a lying punkassmotherfucker

They are already governed by set of federal safety and operating regulations,

Really? Which ones? Perhaps you might link us to them and the significant differences between them and the proposed?

this was going to have them trying to function under two different sets of rules governed by two different agencies.

Really???which two agencies? How do the rules differ?
Why have you chosen to ignore the issue of the naming of the chemicals involved? Why do you feel it is ok for a private corporation to inject unknown chemicals into the drinking water supply?

What have they done to make you believe this?
