The fly in that ointment is that christians themselves cannot do not do that so how is it possible for anyone to expect other than what history has shown to be so? I suspect that at this point any politician who made ethics and fair dealing a central plank in their platform and was trusted to mean it would have more appeal to a broad swath of the electorate than one who didn't or wasn't, Christian or not. In my reading of history I have yet to find a politician who claimed to be unethical and untrustworthy.[8\|]

Nobody is elected to office without professing adherence to Christian beliefs but then all feel free to then act as they really want, all too unethical and immoral as they please...without reprisal. Hell both the Jewish and Christian bibles...sanction slavery and murder.
