Status: offline 		Why doesn't more people like roleplaying online through out the day? It's a huge turn on and then I can get off to it later. My sub does it but that's because I told him he has to and he's actually quiet good but I would like to have a couple going.

Same here, but the on line D/s supplemented our interactions when we were long distance for a couple of years starting out, and could only get together in person once every month or so.

On line roleplay? Naw, we were not into doing cyber D/s "roleplay." Back when Cub was between Mistresses for four years, he had limited options and too much idle time on his hands, so he had engaged in some of that. He found some dommes in chatrooms to amuse, but I was never into any of those virtual reality shenanigans.

Status: offline 		Mine too Lisa n cub, altho we had visits a few times a year since 2001, the majority of it was online, phone, mail, messenger and video. We were not working on being together as a couple as we are both married , but it was a daily relationship. Lots of online playing, experimenting, planning for the time when we were together.
Now I dont think I have the patience for any of it at all online.
Im getting to the point where I know what I DONT want.

Status: offline 		BTW I meant to say once every couple (2-3) of months on average, the longest interval being 4-1/2 mos apart. He had to wait 6 mos initially for us to meet, until I was finally convinced he was worth the trouble of taking a chance on. I did not particularly want added complications in my life with conducting a long-distance affair where one of us would have to relocate eventually if we were going to last as a couple, etc.

Cub had (has) mad text-wooing skills, on top of the sexiest male voice I have ever heard. He is one of the rare exceptions I have never had a moment of regret in taking a well-calculated risk for what could have turned out to be a dud or just a flash in the pan.

I don't think I would have the patience to do this again either if I had to start from scratch after investing so much of myself into one person who may not turn out to be worthy of what I have to offer. At some point, fantasy will collide with reality. Verily, nothing beats having the real McCoy.

Status: offline 		I cannot speak for Lucy, but OP is a 29-yr-old bi Switch who is presumably into cyberdomming, Skyping or using Teamviewer possibly, doing IMs or chats with cam hookups, etc. I am part of an older generation than OP belongs to and do not Tweet; Kik is a novelty I could care less about, and I am not even sure what it is. (Cub is the techno geek since he already heads up systems admin programming projects, sets up firewalls and knows how to write code.)

We were not doing all that kind of stuff on line in terms of remote communications. Cub and I had tried chatting a couple times but the freezeframe/jumpy type of video feed was not to my liking.

Our experiences are not a reflection upon whatever the OP enjoys, nor a critique of what works for her. It just does not work for multitudes of others, and that must be why she wanted to know why there are not more people into engaging in on-line roleplay throughout the day like she habitually does. Why else would she have felt compelled to ask a public forum?

Status: offline 		More like the Been There, Done That type of deal, or Tried It, Didn't Like It or It Got Old/FUBAR.

We all had to start somewhere. There are guys who are convinced their Call-A-Dominatrix Phone "Mistress" authentically *owned* them as a slave. What started out as kinky phonesex fantasy roleplay became their inner reality.

A friend of a friend was spending $600-$800 a month on his virtual spanko & dildo play phonesex sessions. After 5 years, his wife got fed up and left him to move in with her boyfriend.

We have all experienced getting caught in the grips of subfever, domfever, Top/bottom or switchfever, and had to get this out of our system one way or another. On line D/s roleplay is the most efficacious solution, if it does not create an even bigger problem by becoming addictive to cyber D/s fan[atic]s.

I could have been on the snarky side by answering that (1) Most of us have jobs or other productive pursuits that take up the bulk of our time (as in, we have a life ) ....
(2) Even an on line player needs to carve out blocks of uninterrupted privacy, minimizing risks when sneaking away from wifey and kids lest they walk in on him decked out in his gurly-wigged French-maid outfit, prancing around in wobbly fuck-me stilettos, feather duster in hand.

ETA (3) This is more of a dude thing, a male-driven compulsion to get & to give free peep shows. Take that as you will OP, unless you are charging for your cam sessions.

I could actually see that becoming a problem for the OP if she does manage to get a couple of subs besides the one she's doing that with at the moment, now you put it like that.
(And I'd really hope no subs are using their works computers for teamviewer and other online kinking: that's just begging for not at all sexy workplace discipline or even a P45, isn't it?)

To be fair, it is categorically the "Roleplaying" reference rather than the fact that on-line (as opposed to IRT D/s) interactions are taking place.

Now, there is nothing intrinsically wrong with Roleplay when acting out sexual fantasies, nothing at all, even for D/s elitists.

It is when cyber D/s consists of make-believe, pretend D/s that one can start running into snares, when fantasy & reality become blurred for one or both parties, or when one side is leading the other on and has no intention of ever taking the relationship off line.

*Shrug* Although the same thing with people getting hurt, deceived or strung along can happen in real life too, up close & personal, no doubt about it.

Status: offline 		Fifteen years ago I was in a situation where I worked all day and took care of an ill relative all evening and night. I could not go out. I had no social life. Online roleplaying allowed me to relax and, at least in my mind, get away from my responsibilities. I had a great time and enjoyed it very much.

Times change. The relative passed away. I was able to make new friends, go to munches, attend events. Roleplaying loses it's luster when you have the real thing available. At the moment I can't imagine doing it again, however, I'll never say never. I have no idea what the future holds for me.

By the way, had a friend who gave me a nickname at that time, IHOP. Stands for Internet, you take a guess, peppermint. Ah, to be young again and in my early 50s. Sure was fun at the time.

Actually, that would be really funny, but a bit inappropriate in the OR. Might put the surgeon off - lol.
