http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2016-06-29/complaint-claims-trump-illegally-solicited-donations-from-foreign-mps

A campaign finance watchdog is accusing Donald Trump of breaking federal law by soliciting donations from non- U.S. citizens after politicians from several countries complained they had received emails from his campaign.

The Campaign Legal Center, a nonprofit whose aim is to promote the enforcement of federal election finance laws, filed a complaint Wednesday with the Federal Election Commission accusing the presumptive Republican nominee's campaign of "violating black-letter federal law."

Link to the complaint made by the campaign legal center.

Shit, I was supposed to mention the fact that these are ALL MPs that have been contacted, not "merely" voters.
I await with baited breath for the the trumpers to explain it all away.

foreign nationals are prohibited from contributing to American campaigns.

Is that still true after Citizens United?

Foreign enterprises can set up domestic US subsidiaries and contribute that way and yes...without any reasonable detection.

Just the three scammers from here today I must be losing my appeal, mind you I did get 12 on pof from hot totty- that place is now out of control.

Muses....I don't know if the story was true, or not, I never looked hard at it. It just seem patently absurd. His dark lord, a self made man at that, according the insane hobgoblins that inhabit his pea like brain, would not get one dull tuppence from anyone over here..so I am inclined not to believe there was a modicum of truth at the source/origin. Phishing scam i was inclined to think..but then part of me knows this orange genetically engineered experiment run amok, is not correct in the head.

Presumably because the legal bodies are too busy hunting for something they can prosecute Clinton for instead.

The republishiteaters are the only treasonous criminals to take foreign money and thats why they are passing laws to let corporations invert, so they can receive money from their foreign constituency.

You cannot really believe that? Really? Not after this particular campaign where Hillary did more than one round-the-world fundraising tour while at the same time charging Bernie with taking ?27m? in small donations from various foreigners.

More reasonably, do you think Hillary Clinton would pass up one red cent from any source whatsoever so long as her legal and PR teams could hide it, spin it, or obfuscate it?

she has gone abroad fundraising this election period?? can you cite that please because, I cant.
Or are you discussing her battle chest, or are you talking given speeches, or are you talking foundation fundraising?
just wanting a bit of clarification.
Now we all know about the china cash in 96, but that was 20 years ago.
You would have thought EVERYONE, even fucking trump, to have known better.
I havent crossed out the thought of it being a hoax, but truly, you want to cite some proof? cos we can all imagine wishful fantasy.
If trumps campaign DID do this, why are you angry just at the thought of hillary "hiding a red cent" but not the actual topic.
I was just waiting for someone to come up with"at least its "transparent cheating"
Again Disclaimer. I am quite aware this could be a hoax.

Sure. Here's one of them: http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/fundraising/268782-clinton-campaign-hosting-fundraisers-in-mexico

As I remember, there was, at a minimum, also one in England and, don't take this as certain, but one in ?China?. A bit of digging will turn them up. As noted in the article above, these are not illegal nor were they hidden. I don't think she committed any crimes. Then again, committing a crime with our current fundraising laws is rather difficult and getting any prosecution on that crime is pretty much entirely impossible.

Then, of course, there is the Clinton Foundation and the rather suspicious foreign donations going into that... particularly in and around SOS events which turned out to be quite beneficial for those making the donations.

It's not that they don't know better. It's that they DO know exactly what they can get away with.

No, its that most people are not informed.

Donors attending must assert that they are U.S. citizens or lawfully admitted permanent residents of the United States.

The venue doesnt mean shit, the solicitation of foreign people with no American citizenship is illegal. My bets are that British MPs are not allowed to be American Citizens.

Lets not now compound the errors in this to also pretend that ex-pats who are american citizens cannot vote as well.

ok..so she wasnt actually there...fair enough thank you for the link:)
It is not the same as the sposed trump "fundraising tho.
From your link...
Overseas fundraisers are relatively common for leading presidential candidates, though Mexico City is not itself a common destination. Donors attending must assert that they are U.S. citizens or lawfully admitted permanent residents of the United States..
Which is quite different to fundraising from non US citizens.
But I appreciate the effort :) I will look more into it for my own edification.
I learned something so ta muchly.
I dont disagree about any corruption...of any politician or country, or party or organisation. its too far spread to in all societies
Its the LEVEL of corruption that can be proven, is the problem.
Thanks Jeff:)
Oh and especially when they just made it easier for white collar crime to go unpunished.
Its a miserable state of affairs.

ROFL... yeah. And I'm sure they do assert that... in triplicate... on pretty forms with official stamps and whatnot.

I do agree with you, the venue means nothing. If HRC wasn't such a lying whore for money I probably wouldn't have thought much of it.

Given that I'm an expat and voted in Democrats Abroad it's a mistake I'm unlikely to make.

That all being said, sending an email is not illegal. The worst case here would be if the foreign national sent in the money (without laundering it in any of the perfectly legal ways to do so) and the campaign didn't refund it. In that case, assuming the FEC could be bothered to rule on anything at all, then he'd be required to give that money back.

and when they do, she can keep the money, you see, the candidates have to fill out the forms, and file them at the FEC, and if those who claim to be citizens are found to be not, the money will have to be returned.

See the convicted nutsucker Dinesh D'Souza.

ROTFLMAO.

But now the nutsuckers tell us that sending an email is.

Knowingly soliciting foreign nationals for campaign donations, dont give a fuck if it is by smoke signal, is illegal.

They can come to the dinners, they can shake the presidential candidates penis, anything they want, they cannot donate, that would be a crime there.

knowing solicitation is a crime.

And if you're wondering why there's no call to prosecute Flump: that's why, right there.
