It's Roof's fault and no one else's.

It is Roof's fault and only Roof's fault he committed the crime. It is the FBI's fault and the local Sheriff's offices fault he was able to buy a firearm.

Yeah, so the laws already enacted are not being enforced. So how is enacting more going to work ?

You want a new law ? Anyone uses a gun in a crime even if he does not kill anyone, as long as there is no doubt he did it, the death penalty. Try that on for size.

Other than that we got enough laws, just enforce them.

FBI shows NICS checks rise from 1.87M in May to 2.13M in June, nearly 14%. The same time last year had 1.529M checks, meaning June 2016 had nearly 40% more NICS checks.

It looks as if each month this year had an increase, most of them pretty hefty.

Any thoughts on what this signifies?

Yeah and it ain't pretty. People are aware of the dire state of the economy and see there is going to be an increase in crime as formerly law abiding Citizens watch their children go hungry. They will be driven to do thing they never would do before.

So now people want guns to protect themselves and theirs or to possibly commit these crimes if the need arises. "Is it wrong to steal a loaf of bread to feed your starving family ?". Remember that ?

Smart people are getting ready, getting guns and hopefully know how or learn how to use them. There is nothing worse than some idiot with a gun who does not know how to use it.

Maybe they should just forget the background checks and make you qualify, that you know how to aim it, and when it is loaded and unloaded.

And those guys who "accidentally" shot their olady cleaning their gun, that was murder. You don't clean a loaded gun. The fuck, ANY gun owner in here tell me why you would clean a LOADED firearm. If you have the skills to clean it you should already have had the skills to unload it. God damn. How stupid can this country get ?

So anyway, we got the laws in place that are not being enforced, so the solution is to enact more laws.

Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result is insanity.

The laws between the states and NICS are unfunded and voluntary. Not a matter of enforcement, a law designed not to work.

Yeah, and I know why. You might call me a nutsucker after this but I do not care. Here goes:

They get paid to solve a problem. Now if you are an engineer or whatever they expect that problem solved and then you get your check.

But these motherfuckers keep on getting a check as long as the problem is not solved. Once the problem is solved, no more money. What would you do ? I would necessarily avoid solving the problem to keep the money coming in. And that is what they do.

And government agencies actually STRIVE to spend money at the end of their fiscal year because if they don't their funding might be cut. So they buy all kinds of useless shit.

As I have said - they are doing it wrong.

The problem is that as long as they make more money that way they are never going to change.

Nutsuckers ? We would be better off if they spent their time sucking nuts rather than most of what they do.

You mean because they didn't want to live in a police state?

No, I mean that if they had not enshrined the right to bear arms then the mass shootings that are weekly evfents in the US would be far less likely to happen.
As far as your police state, well you already live in one, so apparently the 2nd is a failure on that front.

It is amusing to watch people who have no fucking clue what it is like to live here try and pretend they do.
