That is a bad situation. Unfortunately unless the harmed person wants help, there is not a whole lot that can be done. Friends can help give support and guidance but ultimately the person harmed needs to want help.

in reply to DarkSteven yes there are some instances where the problem is not known for example i have a rash that shows on my face when i get stressed i was asked what i have to be stressed about and i could not put to words what was wrong. in fact i could not do so for several months after Unfortunately unless the harmed person wants help, there is not a whole lot that can be done. Friends can help give support and guidance but ultimately the person harmed needs to want help

in reply to DockStrange i agree completely in fact if one tries to help before the person is read for it it can make the situation much worse. i can say this from personal experience the best thing is to make sure that they know you are always available and ready to help without reservation or judgement

in reply to LadyPact* Admission of guilt from the offender. as mentioned above there are times where the root cause is not known and can cascade the effects out of control

* Remorse from the offender for the harm to the parties involved. Not "I feel bad for myself because I can't attend X" as I mentioned with Steven.
i agree here as well there has to be remorse for the transgression once the transgression is fully known
all of this requires open communication with the participants. there are dynamics where open communication is restricted and topics are off limits or not allowed. this can become the crack that grows to become a wedge leading to a barrier and eventual loss. with this situation everything becomes magnified and distorted out of proportion to the actual event.
dont let this cancer grow it festers and spreads.
the only treatment is to have full and unfettered communication with lots of clarification and restatement
