Last week we got two girl kittens, 11 weeks old. One is black with white markings named Shyla because she is super shy and hides a lot. Her sister is Rocky. Yeah, I told Gary Rocky was not a girl name, but she's Rocky. She's all black with two teeny white spots, one on her breast and one on her belly. She also has an orangey look to some of what we thought was long black hair so I'm figuring she's a really dark tortie. Since we are not going south for the winter as we've done for many years, we're staying in his old house. Old means it was remodeled in 1950 to 1950's standards, meaning knotty pine was "in" so we have knotty pine walls, some knotty pine ceilings, hand made (now falling apart) knotty pine kitchen cabinets, and even heart of pine floors. Damn, it is a unique place caught in time!!! We love it!!! Anyway, lots of places for mice to get inside so we needed at least one mouser. These two come from a super mouser mom. Glad I could add to this cat/car theme.

We are stardust, we are golden, and we got to get ourselves back to the garden. Yes, I am crazy about feathered creatures. I have a dozen chickens, 3 ducks, 5 geese, and 2 parakeets. Revise that number. Just got 14 new chicks and 5 turkeys.
