ORIGINAL: PeonForHer From your link: "When I was younger, I was seduced by feminist rhetoric. But as I stood so seduced, the more I developed a suspicion that male-power isn't all that it's cracked up to be. And so I researched." Do you ever think to yourself that the flip-side might be true, too? Say, "When I was younger, I was seduced by masculinist* rhetoric. But as I stood so seduced, the more I developed a suspicion that female-power isn't all that it's cracked up to be. And so I researched." [*pick your term.] In this case, no because in my nearly sixty years it's all be feminist rhetoric. Or, to be fair, perhaps you'll point out masculinization rhetoric that was seductive on that scale in the west that I've missed? You'll have to ask Nick about that. He's no doubt read an awful lot more of it than I have (and been thoroughly persuaded by it, obviously) - which was why I asked him the question.
