Maybe another civil war... it seems to me there is a significant portion that do not want a secular democracy... assuming this is what the coup is about. Butch

From what I understand, Turkey's military is not directly controlled by Turkey's ruler. Instead the military serves to protect Turkey's "democracy". So elements of the military are certainly reacting to the anti-democratic policies of Erdogan. There are too many conflicting reports now to understand what side is winning. Some people are proposing that Ergodan staged this coup to find out who is against him, thus furthering his Islamist agenda.

If anything goes wrong we will never convince them that it isn't a CIA operation, and Bush's fault.

Funny how Americans who are so eager to see Coups For Freedom™ in other countries always manage to find excuses for not supporting such actions in their own nation, even when their elections are "stolen" and their Congress (Including the Senator From Wal-Mart and current Wall Street Presidential Heir (sic) Apparent) "lied" into supporting an illegal war. It would almost be laughable watching the Choreographed dis-Information Apes As the NATO/PENTAGON/CIA Social Media Intervention Teams work overtime today, and this weekend on various social media platforms to spin this apparent failed attempt at Regime Change Wall Street can Bank On. Continually Instigating Arabs was one thing But now you're messing with the Turks - and as many have noted, when this country descends into Syria-style civil war as the result of CIA fuckery, the already volatile Middle East situation is about to get worse by orders of magnitude. You broke it in 2003 and you're never going to put it back together.
