No actually, seeing as I never said a thing about the constitution or any law, so it is you who has been shown to be effectively illiterate, arguing some point you imagined, all the while totally ignoring the actual point made, which remains unchallenged and un countered; to whit: There is no rational reason for a civilian to own such a weapon.

You never made a point. All you did was express an opinion.

Like the court(s).

Yeah, no. Not "like the court's." The court's opinion is law. Hers (and yours) are neither law nor fact.

'Like IN the court(s)' was the intention, which would be implicit for a competent reader.

If you have you explain what you meant, don't blame the reader.

Nobody said it was. If you can't read English, don't blame the writer.

Some people need more things explained to them than others.

What is it about you that makes you think you can dictate what I can do or what I can have? Who are you to say what I need and don't need? Who is government to say what I can and cannot have? Does government work for me? Who has the power in the relationship between government and The People?

It's the same as I've been discussing. In her mind she is so much smarter than you. So you need her guidance. And, as you know, the government is run by the "elites" to help you have what you should have instead of what you think you want.

And there is no rational reason to prohibit them.
On top of that there is a Constitutional reason to ban weapons.

That, is simply untrue, there are many rational reasons to do so.

Once again, I simply stated a fact, that there is no rational need for civilian ownership of such a weapon. I never said they should be banned, that you ought not have one, just that no civilian actually needs one. That's all, and yet somehow you have warped that into me being in favour of banning or anything actually.

It's really quite funny how you do that, I make one factual statement that expresses no position on gun control and you all write up a whole scenario in your minds.

For what it's worth, I am not anti-gun.

OK, here: There is no rational reason why a civilian might need a semi-automatic rifle with a large capacity magazine.

Actually, if you had read my posts you'd see I never accused you of anything of the sort. Go back and read my posts. I have accused you of not being relevant, not being able to communicate and assuming when that happens (a lot) that it's because people can't understand you. I've pointed out that since people don't seem to understand you, a lot, it is your inability to communicate rather than others not being able to understand. You should really pay attention and read stuff.

Not a chance. They are supposed to in theory, but they do not, and never have (except for very brief periods here and there immediately following a popular uprising), or when they need your support for something (as during the Cold War).

Who has the power in the relationship between government and The People?

The government. It shouldn't be that way, but it is.

Why do you think civilians should not have a semi-automatic rifle with large capacity magazines? What rational reason is there to limit the rights of The People?

You're asking for "rational reasons" as to why a civilian "needs" such a rifle. I'm asking why you think civilians should not have such a rifle.

You've said that before. It's still not a rational statement. Maybe you can diagram the sentence and see that a negation of rational opinion is not a rational thought in and of itself. For instance, I can say that given your inability to communicate there is no rational opinion why you should be able to express an opinion. At least in my sentence I stated a reason for the conclusion. Whereas in yours, it's just a spouting with no thought. Perhaps it's an irrational feeling because today was a bad day for you. Perhaps someone who enjoyed shooting sports didn't tip you what you thought you deserved. Perhaps it was any one of other things I can imagine. Yet, you state things like this with no back up (rational support) and expect people to guess why you are so wise and then assume people are less bright than you when they, as I described earlier, assume their interpretation as is everyone's right in any contract, including social contract governing rational debate.

No I'm not, I never asked anything of the sort, I stated there was no rational need.
quote:

I'm asking why you think civilians should not have such a rifle.

I never said they shouldn't, only that there was no rational reason why they need one.

And even though several of you have been arguing with me, you have all been arguing a position I never took. See I made one simple statement, and you somehow have decided that I believe all sorts of things that were not even tangentially referenced in my statement.
If you wish to argue with my statement, then by all means, list some ways that a civilian rationally needs such a weapon.
