When I go to my reenactments, no modern devices are supposed to be on the field.. No modern camera, but everybody brings them... I don't and it bothers me, the ones that do

Just curious, having thought about this some more, whether complaining on the internet about this is the correct way to go? Wouldn't writing a physical letter (ideally in longhand, but I suppose a print out from a PC breaks the metaphor at least a little less than email) and posting it to a local paper be more appropriate? (That said, at least neither you nor jlf are tweeting about it, I suppose...)

About a year ago, M got turned on to a game called Ingress - which is essentially Pokemon for guys that like tactical games. You go around finding portals and trying to take them over from your enemies.

I take my dog to a huge park every evening and suddenly it's choked with Pokemon players. Some are walking dogs and entirely ignoring said dogs and what they're doing; ignoring traffic, passing cars, etc. I think humans have finite attention capacity and that game takes up almost all of theirs. I can't wait till that game fades away.
