littleone35 -> Older, Younger? (7/20/2016 12:21:53 PM)

Ok here goes

I have always liked oder men, a personal preference. I am colared to a wonderful older Dom. I was thinkingi am 40 and as i get older my potintiol for older men is gonna dwindle. If something happened to my Master and decided to try again would i haver trouble?

It seems that many Master seem to like younger subs. I mean not all but many seem to do.

So i guess my question is it harder to find a Dom as you get older? Or am i mistaken.?

I would guess you are dead on.

I don't mind older women. My first slave was older than I.

I like younger women too if they are mature. It really depends on the person.

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that if something happens to M, that I'll end up not looking for another D/s relationship. I doubt that I could find anything close to what we have in our relationship and at this point in my life, I have little patience for posers. I might possibly go to the other side and go looking for a male sub.

for me it's not age, it's how many years of experience in BDSM, I would prefer at least 5 years experience, I'm getting too dang old to teach newbie Dominants. Right now I'm with an older Dominant, I almost left the relationship and thought if I did decide to do that would I keep looking for another one or just give up all together.

When my prior Dominant partner passed away, it did not take me very long at all to find a new partner (once I started looking). *shrug* Probably just got lucky. [:)]

It's damn hard to find the right someone. Age is just an unnecessary obstruction.

Not really. Studies have shown, the larger the age gap, the more likely that the relationship won't last.

Glad I don't put any stock in studies like that. [:D]

I've been with women 25 years younger than me. My sub Tasha is four years younger. If all I was looking for was great sex and play, I'd shoot for a hot young thing. But at my age, conversation and place in life matters a lot.

I couldn't relate to a woman who hasn't had a career, cared for a home, etc. And when I refer to things like the Silent Majority, Roe vs Wade, trickle down economics, and the Marx Bros, Tasha knows what I'm talking about.

I been with my Dominant for 5 years, before that I had 3 other older Dominants been with each of them 3-5 years and they ended because of circumstances not because of age gaps.

The age cap can also effect how people deal with emotional relationship issues.

A lot of things can affect how people deal with relationship issues.

LilJuly76 -> RE: Older, Younger? (7/21/2016 2:53:04 PM)

I have anxiety, I have found older, more intelligent thinking Dominants tend to help me when I'm having an anxiety problem, in other words they talk some sense into my head before I let my worry about something get the better of me.

LilJuly76 -> RE: Older, Younger? (7/21/2016 2:54:14 PM)

just to clarify to you both, what exactly are we talking about in relationship issues?

Your particular generational culture can effect how you deal with issues in your life. ie: You have generations that didn't discuss emotion and some that need a safe space when someone writes "Trump for President" in chalk on their campus.

In my personal experience, these things have a lot more to do with geographic location and type of upbringing, rather than strictly generational.

LilJuly76 -> RE: Older, Younger? (7/21/2016 4:25:09 PM)

oh yes I grew up in a very old fashioned conservative family where the females were very much submissive, the males never talked or showed emotion and they basically ran the whole huge family while the girls and women did "women" things.

I guess I have been very lucky with my pick of the older Dominants, they seemed to have been different then most older Dominants wold be in those respects. the one I have been with for 5 years, he's more logical and clear headed than me at times (usually during my anxiety times) and when he found out he almost lost me he realized what I meant to him and he was able to talk about it with me.

kiwisub22 -> RE: Older, Younger? (7/21/2016 5:02:18 PM)

When my dom died, and I went on line looking for a kinky relationship, I had no lack of people interested, of all ages.
The people I work with were very envious of the number of different men that I was dating - the youngest 28 and the oldest my age. And kink was the key. If I wasn't kinky I'm sure there wouldn't have been near the interest.

My dom and I had such a strong relationship that it was very difficult to look for a replacement - not because there were a lack of men interested, but because I wanted them to do everything just the way he did. It wasn't going to happen. I had to get past that expectation and accept who the individuals were for themselves.

So. short answer - nope, I had a much easier time finding a man whilst in my '50's than in any other decade. Way easier than in my 20's. Had fun too...[:D]

littleone35 -> RE: Older, Younger? (7/21/2016 6:52:06 PM)

Studies that show the bigger age gap the odds are the relationship won't last. Wht studies are that? I guess master and i beat the odds. He is 19 years my senior and we have been toghter 10+ years and still goingsyrong. It is always nice to beat the odds.
