WickedsDesire -> UK a nation of Robin Hoods (7/21/2016 3:47:19 AM)

Almost six million fraud and cyber crimes were committed last year in England and Wales, the Office for National Statistics has said.

It estimated there were two million computer misuse offences and 3.8 million fraud offences in the 12 months to the end of March - suggesting fraud is the most common type of crime.

Most related to bank account fraud.

It is the first time fraud questions have been added to the official Crime Survey for England and Wales.

The figures are separate from the headline estimate that a total of 6.3 million crimes were perpetrated against adults in the year to March.

Population of England and Wales 60 million (like i am going to look that up).

There is of course absolutely no crime in Scotland and we live in peace and harmony and stories about wreck the hoose juice are disgraceful lies.

Most of the fraud is being committed by eastern Europeans and most of it is being done remotely.

And out of that 20 forum users 7 or 8 are from the UK. Nothing like feeling excluded though eh. [8|]

I thought the story of Robin Hood was about "robbing from the rich and giving to the poor."

Has that trope changed when I wasn't looking?

It would be pretty cool if a hacker actually hacked billions from banks around the world, and then actually donate it to help disadvantaged people around the world.
If such a robin hood exists.
It's not right. But it would be pretty awesome.

Especially when, these days, these hacking into banks happens, and like hackers are never caught.

you have to remember that Robin Hood was a poor man, so it made sense to rob the rich to give to the poor. you sure as hell couldn't rob the poor.................they didn't have any damn thing !!

In a similar vein to the Lizzie Borden defence, " Well your honour, I did it because I wanted to go to the orphans' picnic".

Wouldn't make sense to try to make a living stealing from the poor would it?
Kinda like Wille Sutton.
