FR..... Breaking news on the case claims German authorities have stated the killer was obsessed by mass shootings, and had no known links with I.S.

blnymph -> RE: Munich Mall Shooting (7/23/2016 3:44:46 AM)

Facts as stated today at noon:

One shooting, one shooter, at the OEZ (Olympia Einkaufszentrum), in front and inside.

Shooter who committed suicide, 18, local, used an illegally obtained Glock. On his pc he had material about the Winnenden amock shooting and maybe more about similar incidents.

9 dead as given above, mostly locals as identified so far.
24 wounded, 3 of these by gunshot, others during panic, also in town far away from the shooting. All the other "shootings" all over town were obviously rumours and hoaxes rapidly spread by some media.

Rumour of 2 more shooters obviously started when 2 drove off OEZ with high speed when the shooting happened. They had nothing to do with it.

Bets: as tasteless as can be expected from that Volltrottel.

FR

And now the possible Breivik link.

lovmuffin -> RE: Munich Mall Shooting (7/23/2016 7:01:33 AM)

According to an article in The New York Times this guy had an obsession with violence, didn't have any specific contacts in Iran and was previously a victim of bullies. I'm inferring from the article that he was just a whack job who used the Islamic Jihad as a platform. If not for Jihad, on any other day he could have been shorted a few fries at McDonald's and used that for an excuse.

Though this might be a question for another thread, I'll echo it. Where did he get the gun ? According to German authorities, the gun was a Glock 17 9mm with the serial number filed off and he had a crap load of ammunition in his pack. There was no information in the article on how many spare magazines he might have had.

oh please no other thread ...

Serial nummer filed off means it will take another while to find out how he got it. So just wait a bit longer. He had got about 200 (or 300) bullets.

Oh okay, we can just let this thread turn into a gun thread [8D]

I couldn't remember whether the article stated 200 or 300 rounds of ammunition so I said "crap load". I would have provided a link but I found the article on a news feed from my tablet and there was no option to copy it.

The 10th is "a" shooter. Last I heard they thought three.

In one story I saw, a friend reportedly told BILD that the guy had a picture of Breivik as his Whatsapp profile image. In yet another, he has been linked to a Facebook account that was set up a day before the shooting to lure kids to the MacDonalds with offers of free stuff. One witness says he burst from the MacDonalds bathroom shouting "Allahu Akbar," and another says he was later heard screaming, "I'm German, fuck foreigners". The picture that is shaping up seems to be of a guy with a more or less ecumenical obsession with mass murderers, right-wing and religious alike.

At least I can woman up and say I probably was wrong.
Consider focusing on why not only was that my first guess, but probably the majority of people in the world.
Why is that?
What would make most people, make that guess?
Could it be the 3 attacks in France, within a year?
Hummm

True, I appreciate that...

and why is that, that people make that guess?

To be honest there are countless reasons for that but in my personal experience I felt my
life way more nicer whilst living under foreigners in the UK than in my own home country...

They had way more the "live and let live" attitude whereas over here you always get scanned
about your degree, your weight and whatever else, I found the attitude in my own homecountry
often a very arrogant one compared to my life I had in the UK...though thats not this topic now
I know, but that I always realise when foreigners get handily blamed for everything...

1980 we have had a nazi attack in Germany, just some years ago it became public how nazis killed 10
foreigners over here...it's unfortunately always an option over here, to come from that corner...

I'm sure you'd be welcomed back.

Another one of those wonderful aspects of the EU. If the gun laws in your home country make gaining a weapon too difficult, you shop around for countries with lax laws (despite the EU's attempt to prevent the lack of internal border controls allowing this very thing). Typically, you go to Prague.

Well - who wants to be bothered with facts?

For those who don't mind facts: According to Munich police today at noon the gun had been a theatre prop acquired via darknet. It is not yet known who had reworked it to a functioning weapon again.

WickedsDesire -> RE: Munich Mall Shooting (7/24/2016 11:52:17 AM)

I thought my thread better as I narrated history of time and events - let me think what one to post in - the one with the numbers.....

Who created him?

Humanity
Bullies
or?

I'm not sure why you quoted me for that. As I stated, right or wrong, I got the information from The New York Times. I don't mind facts at all.

German authorities now say there is evidence he got the gun from the dark web. Although you are right about the ease with which you can get guns from some of the Eastern European states.
