There has always been violence in Asia but it does not occur that frequently in Europe and North America, yet in the last year we have seen more newsworthy violence than at any time in a decade or more. Who can shed intelligent light upon why this is happening so frequently almost daily now?

I would say that the media has a great deal to do with it. There is a phenomenom where suicides can occur in clusters, almost as if one suicide gives others permission to do the same. I would think all the publicity given to school shootings and terrorist acts would give disaffected people ideas that they might never have acted on.

Actually, with the biases in the tv media and the twenty-four hour coverage, I blame the media for a lot of things.

Yeah, the celebrity status conferred by the media may well play a role.
