Believe it or not, I think there was a story about the last of those in one of Phil Foglio's XXXenophile comics.

I don't know if he's ever worked for Mad, to be honest. He did used to do a lot of stuff for Dragon, and he's doing that Girl Genius webcomic at the moment. He also did an excellent revival of Stanley and his Monster and even better one of Angel and the Ape for DC in the late '80s.

Punching the living shit out of P.C. Anal Retentives and Global warmers. They tie 5 of them to polls and you and your four teamates get 6 seconds to let 'em have it! Then they take them into the Medic's office for exams and x rays to see who did the most damage. Bare fists only. This would be REAL popular.
