WhoreMods -> Venture capitalists are vampires (or fuckwits) (8/11/2016 11:59:25 AM)

Peter Thiel thinks youthful blood is wasted on the young...
You couldn't make it up, could you?

Yea, I think J.Paul Getty and Jack Kent Cooke to name just 2, (the late former owner of the Lakers & Redskins) were both going to live forever. As Tocqueville and others wrote, Americans love money that much never ever seeing a country...like this one. (also republicans and their plutocratic sponsors)

What these people and those like them don't understand, is that death is a...fact of life. One cannot dominate death. They'd do as well or better with say 1000-1200 blow jobs a year.

Maybe they can't get it up that often, but think life extension is more doable?

TallClevDom -> RE: Venture capitalists are vampires (or fuckwits) (8/11/2016 12:58:39 PM)

Actually the quote supposedly came from GB Shaw - “Youth is the most beautiful thing in this world—and what a pity that it has to be wasted on children!”

Paraphrased for comic effect, but I'm glad somebody got the reference.

Did he write that?

I thought he wrote that your average American (19th century variety) has more political power than most other countries, but the downside is that they were destined to elect average leaders.

Which of course he would say given France's elitist history.

Personally, I would take what he said with a pinch of salt. Anyone who thinks that a few experts should order society, is suspect.

Well that and the revisionist meaning of Adam Smith. But yes, he wrote that rather than spend anytime pursuing the intellect and the arts, on so many words, he never saw countrymen of any country...more in love with money.

Oh fuckin' hell.

We've always had this with them.

Nietzsche coined a term "Manchesterism" which was intended to be a slight on England's commercial nature.

The French and Germans used to come over here in the 18th/19th century and conclude that we were ruining 'European values' due to our commercial nature.

Because they think their shite doesn't smell like everyone else's and the continental Europeans alone hold the key to moral virtue. Never mind what they've actually done over the centuries.

They've always believed in an elitist approach where a few so-called experts order society.

I personally would take those sort of statements for the absolute nonsense it really is.

They fancy themselves as intellectuals but really they're not rated here, except as liable to cause problems at some point soon.

Because, of course, the British have never done that.

Every fool and his dog, even you, understands that there has always been a hierarchy.

What next? The sky is usually blue?

How does this nutjob suddenly represent all venture capitalists?

WhoreMods -> RE: Venture capitalists are vampires (or fuckwits) (8/12/2016 4:33:36 PM)

Because it makes for a half decent thread title. Why else?

What if you grow food. You are one of the few farmers around. A rich guy comes and buys your entire crop. Then he resells it at a profit because he is the only one with this essential commodity.

Welcome to speculation.

What if you own a company that has a couple hundred employees and you built it yourself, slow but sure and have practically no debt, and are making decent profits. Then, you decide to expand so you go public. A vulture capitalist buys up enough of the stock to have a say and forces you to move the plant to China. He has that right according to the courts ever since Dodge v Ford. If his bean counters can prove you'll make more money and you refuse you can be removed, or possibly even charged with conflict of interest.

Romney is a different kind of vulture. They talk about Trump's bankruptcies but Romney caused way more, that was his business. Buy a company, put it in debt up to the hilt and write him a nice salary along with a few lawyers buddies and then when the money is gone file bankruptcy. There''s a vulture capitalist if I ever seen one. Trump at least wanted to succeed. And GW Bush ran every business he ever touched into the ground.

But the democrats now, they do not run businesses at all, they have foundations and charities and shit like that. Show me a business the Clintons have run for profit, and I do not meant that front foundation which is actually a tax dodge.

It is all a bunch of shit. Just shoot me, fukit.

T^T
