As much a looker and alluring as she was in that series, what is it about her and even more so, Hellen Mirren that made both of them even more alluring when they turned fifty? I forget what BBC show, but Dianna Riigg introduced or narrated it. And I'm not talking about "looking good for their age," but just looking good, period.

I ran the 35 mm of The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover, back in the day, and Helen Mirren caught some bit of my attention then (at 39, I think). But, without remembering the names of what movies, she caught my attention a good bit more eight-ten years later.

Go to IMDB or where ever, look at Mirren in her twenties or thirties; nothing special, just another blond. Look at her in her fifties or beyond; magic.

For fun and silly, the movie RED (Retired, Extremely Dangerous) is a good showcase for her, doesn't matter if her 'best' movie or not.

Somebody should have definitely gotten Dianna Rigg in front of the camera a bit more in her latter years too.

Helen Mirren, is, as you state, one hot 50 year old, however, I must point out that as Morgan leFey in Excalibur, she was one hot blonde, and has kept her looks (not like a couple of the actresses from that movie.)

Her whole attitude and the way she carries herself hints at a passion held in check, but once released you will not find another like it.

Diana Rigg, on the other hand, has that look about her that hints that get her behind closed doors (or anywhere for that matter) she is gonna rock your world.

I think not, or not entirely, in any case.

That little lady is what they call "a fire cracker." (She's from Texas). I had the pleasure of doing one of her live shows one day, and however funny she is on the night show, she is twice as funny off stage. Man, hearing Tammy sung onstage by the original voice and face is something else. Must be a good life knowing you've got an audience of 2,000 suckers, just for that, every time you go out. But she still has to fill out another 50 or 60 minutes, and she does it.

BTW, nice yelling at each other in the other thread. We do this stuff all the time, right? We still good?

If you're into movie femme fatales, don't overlook Ida Lupino, especially in a movie called The Hard Way. My favorite line from that movie is when her brother in law shows up uninvited to his own wife's party (yes, that was the case in the movie, Ida Lupino's sister, in character). "I thought I was your friend" he says. Ida Lupino's character says "I'm my only friend, Jack, you know that." The perfect cold look with the prettiest smile on her face, the whole time. She knew Hollywood and the woman's place regarding the camera in the '50s and '60s, so she was sharp enough to get into directing before her dawn arrived. She directed some decent movies in the '50s, and directed a bunch of TV episodes in the '60s, one Twilight Zone among them.

Marie Windsor is another most excellent 'Bad Girl,' in any movie. Her eyes alone make men squirm.

You are aware, I might think, that Jimi Hendrix played the guitar with his teeth in concert.

There was a movie that came out in 1949, I think, with John Wayne, Marie Windsor, and some others. J Wayne and his buddy got stuck onstage pretending to play the violin, but with no clue. The real violin player in the band, however, stood up and plucked the strings with his teeth in midst of his solo, played it behind his back, etc.. The movie is called The Fighting Kentuckian. Worth getting, if just for Marie Windsor and the violin teeth plucking.
