Poor, deluded fools believe the veneer that is "civilization" is much stronger and thicker than it really is . . while, at the same time, they're acting to diminish its' effects. Almost literally sawing off the limb they're standing on.

I read this OP and it really does set up the question, just what is America supposed to be or...civilization for that matter ? We have so much flexibility in the matter, all of history's options not to mention the present. Now I realize that the OP's title was an exclamation not a question but nonetheless, seems to be taken that way.

That's irrespective of the fact that one can read of the entire English lineage of at least some of the crown's land and still being handed down to heirs. (Lord Fairfax [6th] and such of some 5.7 million acres from Harper's Ferry all of they down past Fredericksburg and the Rappahannock, granted to the family (1st) by Charles II 1630's) Now, West Va., Loudoun Co. Fairfax Co. Culpeper Co. Prince William Co. Alexandria and Arlington, Va. including Belvoir and Mount Vernon with some slight variations on that theme) Some of what was south went to the colony...some didn't.

When in real estate, got an RTC listing, 320 acres of a fucking beautiful 320 acre estate in Middleburg, Va. small mansion, 20 acre lake...all fenced. Was the last parcel of 1500 acres given by Geo. Washington's to his foreman out of land given to Geo. by wife and hers from, you go it...Lord Fairfax for whom George was a surveyor.

Another Lord FFX (through yet more heirs) themselves by 1781 and by the end of the war having built a small humble abode in what is now MD....didn't give a fuck and died.

If I read it correctly, still being challenged in the courts as of 1910.

Is America supposed to be something other than what [it] is ? If so...what ?

Which inbred hemophiliacs? Hemophelia came from the Saxe-Cobergs (thats what comes of letting krauts in the mix)

It came from Queen Victoria, her husband was Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. She was Hannover (Kraut+Kraut if you like). It was spread by her daughters marrying other aristocracy. (classical Mendelian example, the gene mutation is located on the x-chromosome, mothers transfer it but only sons suffer from it). The Windsors still have relatives in Germany, Hannoverian, Saxe-Coburg-Gothian (btw also related to the Danish, Norwegian, ex-Greek, ex-Bulgarian), Battenberg. So have most of the others.

If you prefer the Stuart descendency the British king now would be Duke Francis of Bavaria (of course also a relative).

What the Anglo-Saxons love to forget: Jerries all of them. Angeln is in central Schleswig-Holstein, and the Saxons came from (guess ...) Saxony; their relatives still live there. Old English and Old low German are mere dialects of the same language. Those who boarded the boats over to the isles were immigrants; paupers, mercennaries, adventurers, that changed the country they immigrated to. (So did Danes and Norse to the north)


As to the Viking influence: The Tudors were not Viking but Welsh, but many Russians were, the first state of Russians (Kiev Rus) was founded by the Waräger (not so popular in Russian historiography). The term "Rus(sia)" is viking in origin.
