"Hillary Clinton's net worth is $31.3 million. Our Hillary Clinton net worth number comes from analyzing her 2015 U.S. Public Financial Disclosure Reports. Bill Clinton has an estimated net worth of $80 million. That gives a combined Bill and Hillary Clinton net worth of $111 million dollars."

Surely, leaving out the fact that he brought 70,000 lbs of food and other supplies wasn't intentional, was it?

Just shows how the press refuse to report anything positive he did and choose to spin everything as negative.

It was a photo-op for him (as well as a tax write-off), just like anything he does for "charity".. he doesnt do anything without it benefiting him much more than anyone else.. when he was doing that apprentice thing, it was amazing how stingy his "charity" donations were, considering he is worth 4 billion (isnt that what he claims? or something like that)..

He claims to be worth nine or ten billion most of the time: I think four billion was the estimate Forbes made a couple of years ago.

I read your links and no where could I find the 70,000 lbs of food you reference.
I notice that, with one exception, the only black faces in the links you posted belong to the national guard.

The press reported that the govornor told him to keep his dog and pony show at home unless he was going to bring something more substantive than play dough and rhetoric.
Jesus you are phoquing stupid.

In what way Anjelika??
I'm only asking because I can see several sides to this. Unless you meant sad, regarding the flood victims, in which case I cannot disagree at all

I havent watched any video of the proceedings, altho I have read about 12 different accounts from different sides, including the ones from the OP and from CD and other links that did mention the 18 wheeler with supplies, what the supplies included and what people said who met him.
He took the time to go down there. wether or not it was a political ploy, play, or plot is up to each individual.
Playdoh, well, I can see that. someone on the campaign was thinking outside the box. it caught the attention of the press, and people in general. Someone is thinking of the kids....
I can see it cynically as anti- trump fan, but I can also see how it made a small number of people going thru the flooding feel, even for an hour and thats not bad. A rare bright spot during a hellacious time.

just my pov on the humanist aspect...the "political bits" for me will be another post, maybe:)

I could find no mention of what was on that semi except the play dough.

He did what..sighs.
I once built a complete metropolis on the beach..we didn’t have any of that fancy play doh, just our wits and a stick.

Trump has no money in the piggy bank - which he claimed is made of gold and has remortaged fifty times and refinanced another twenty times. His empire is founded on debt, shoddy loans, limited companies, and the Russian rouble. A pyramid scheme in essence - should one aspect crumble - then it will all fall. But of you build the maze large enough with bluster and lies and treachery it will self sustain itself a lifetime, perhaps.

The story is slanted to make the delivery of supplies to be negligible and it wasn't.
The story also devalues the distribution of the play-doh and for kids who may have lost everything it was a gift of value.

The story told a partial truth and slanted it in a negative way.

http://www.snopes.com/donald-trump-play-doh-lousiana/

"The GOP nominee has not yet issued a press release detailing what items he donated, nor how those donations were funded. (Were these personal donations? Did he collect items from supporters? Did the campaign pay for them?) But although Donald Trump did donate Play-Doh modeling clay to flood victims in Louisiana, this was not his only donation to those in need, as a video of Trump helping to unload a truck clearly shows that he donated much more than Play-Doh:

Play-Doh, diapers, baby formula, various toys, cleaning supplies and socks can be seen in the above-displayed video. A CNN report also noted that Trump had donated blankets and school supplies.
In addition to questioning the contents of Trump's donation, some were skeptical that the candidate had donated anything at all, claiming that Trump merely helped to unload a truck of supplies donated by another organization. However, CNN and The Creole, the latter an online news source for Ascension Parish in Louisiana, reported that Trump had "donated" an 18-wheeler full of supplies"

PS the above is a quote from snopes not me... that is just where I found more info.

Marini -> RE: Donald Trump to the rescue with play doh! (8/21/2016 7:16:36 AM)

There is very little levity around here.
As a moderate I find the extreme partisan bullshit here taxing.

I think the fact Donald went down there was a great thing.
He delivered a lot more than toys, and the toys were necessary.

The press hates him, and if he handed out hundred dollar bills, they would turn that into a bad thing.

I thought the photo of him handing out play doh was funny.
It's amazing how people are upset because someone finds something funny.
It does not detract from the good he was doing.
I find a lot to laugh at with good ole Hill also.

Donald did a great thing, and the photo was funny.
Get a damn grip.

WickedsDesire -> RE: Donald Trump to the rescue with play doh! (8/21/2016 7:28:16 AM)

thompsonx not quite sure how to take that one - I believe him to have negative equity.

I thought we were discussing play-doh

Do you know I never even looked to see why Louisiana flooded

Reads hmmm
Early on August 11, a mesoscale convective system flared up in southern Louisiana around a weak area of low pressure that was situated to an outflow boundary. It remained nearly stationary, and as a result, torrential downpours occurred in the areas surrounding Baton Rouge and Lafayette. Rainfall rates of up to 2–3 inches (5.1–7.6 cm) an hour were reported in the most deluged areas. Totals exceeded nearly 2 feet (61 cm) in some areas as a result of the system remaining stationary.[1] Accumulations peaked at 31.39 inches (797 mm) in Watson, just northeast of Baton Rouge.[2]

The Washington Post noted that the "no-name storm" dumped three times as much rain on Louisiana as Hurricane Katrina. It dropped the equivalent of 7.1 trillion gallons of water or enough to fill Lake Pontchartrain about four times. Hurricane Katrina, by comparison, dumped about 2.3 trillion gallons of rainwater in the state (though more in other states). It also dumped more water than Hurricane Isaac. According to the National Weather Service Hydrometeorological Design Studies Center, the amount of rainfall in the hardest-hit locations had a less than 0.1 percent chance of happening or was a (less than) 1-in-1,000-year event.[3]
- this paragraph is utterly useless

Hmm the one in 100 year storm pisses himself - The latter paragraph cited the 1 in 1000 year storm - laughs again. Is baton rouge in Louisiana? fek it is well that will make utter nonsense of the 100/1000 argument. They often use that as the upper tolerance for the design life of buildings roads etc 100 year one. Sometimes they term them as Extreme weather events - they are far from this

Could you explain the attraction Putin has for the American right? I've never understood that one.

His authoritarianism. Get's clean away with either imprisoning or outright liquidation of his opponents for one. Can stay or get back in power like its preordained.

Went from a boring nobody in the KGB to multi-billionaire. Far too many on the right in America practically drool over such a story.

It is not attraction, it is recognition. He has made Russia much better. People have jobs, money, and stuff in the stores to buy. Their standard of living has gone up quite a bit with him in the chair and shows no signs of reversing. Much better than the Soviet days and I guess they have pretty much forgiven him for working for them.

Since his approval rating is not 100 % (though higher than most US Presidents) it is logical to assume that people are not afraid to answer in the negative when responding to polls.

Perhaps he is trying to atone for past sins, who knows ? But you look at him from a non-Russian standpoint, if you were Russian you might see it differently. If you saw your country have good economic growth and have a better job, what would you think ?

Meantime in the US pay is decreasing. Even without the devaluation of the currency, the job market is such that I make a little over half what I used to make. The debt only rises and they need quantitative easing so people don't lose their 401K n shit. Russia isn't doing that. Russia does not have 15 % of the people on food stamps. Russia does not have a third of their people on psychotropic drugs though it is speculated they might still be using vodka to some degree. And the state of California has more debt than Russia.

They wanted to ally with Ukraine, partly because of the fertile land there. They made them an offer that far exceeded what the west offered and that is why the west intervened. Now, I doubt they want anything from Ukraine because Monsanto is now poisoning their land. This is something the old government would not allow. But Russia does have some land that could be made arable, it just takes work. So far they do not have to.

In response to US sanctions, which were only against seven people and a total joke, they started boycotting certain food sources. Western pundits said they were shooting themselves in the foot but I did the math and the boycott adds up to about $100 per year per Russian. You think they eat on $100 per year ? Plus (I have known a few) when they come here they say the food has no flavor. Let's put it this way - Argentina is not importing our beef. In fact because of my work I have met many Eastern European immigrants and they all say the same thing. Now, one industry sprung up with grocery stores for them. I have been to some of those and the stuff really is superior to most of the bland shit we got.

And one Russian put up a tent in the park and along came a ranger. How can a park close he asked. He said "Where is the freedom ?". Russians have guns and hunt, (once you qualify with a gun your license is good for life, it is not a revenue maker like here) and they do not need a fishing license to fish.

Most of these people have at least considered gong back. But they bought houses, got kids who are raised here so far and it would just be too much. Even Mexicans are going back. this "growing illegal immigration problem" is a myth. The Mexicans are going back. There are not enough jobs and that is what many of them came here for.

And now, Russians are not fond of homosexuals. It is not illegal there but it is illegal to promote it to children. So I guess they don't get Sesame Street anymore. But that is what the people want. They are not taking in alot of immigrants, which some countries are having a hard time with.

God damn, I wish I knew Russian. Problem is, while I am considered smart and resourceful here, there I might be average or maybe under average. They got real schools, people fix their own shit. They are not in alot of personal debt. do you realize that people's personal debt in this country is more than the national debt ?

We can't live on what we make, they can.

If we could find someone like that in the US he would make a good President. But one of the problems is he is hamstringed by a liberal bunch of greedy assholes, or greedy republicans who only care to shovel money to their defense contractor friends. Consider the F-35.

i got no love for any billionaire politician, but some are worse than others. What I see is that Putin has taken his brainpower, strategical abilities and whatever else and now applies them to the betterment of Russia.

That is all.

T^T

Russia has one of the lowest standards of living in the world. Highlites:

More commonly referred to as Russia, The Russian Federation offers one of the overall lowest standards of living in the world. With a population of over 142 million, the people of Russia are not as healthy as they should be. When it comes to health, they scored an extremely low 0.6 out of 10 and their life expectancy at birth is 70 years – which is shockingly low compared to the OECD average of 80 years. Total health spending is also quite low, with only 5.1% of the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) being employed for healthcare, compared to the 9.5% average.

HERE

Only 69% of the emloyable have a paid job.

$17,000 median income

.....the average student scored 481 in reading literacy, maths and science in the OECD's Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), lower than the OECD average of 497.

The Russian Federation could do better in terms of water quality, as only 49% of people say they are satisfied with the quality of their water, below the OECD average of 81%.

..... 85.6% of people in Russia live in dwellings with private access to an indoor flushing toilet, much less than the OECD average of 97.9%.
