For those who do not know that that term means, it means a US sub has not returned from patrol and is presumed lost.

My family on both sides has been military, but my mothers family has been navy since before there was a United States.

Two of her uncles are on eternal patrol, and today the birthday for one of them, Torpedoman 1st Baughman.

Instead of listing his boat, I felt it would be better to list those boats still on patrol.

For August:

USS Bullhead, SS 332, 6 August 1945
USS Flier SS250 13 August 1944
S39 SS144 13 AUgust 1942
USS Cochino SS345 24 August 1944
