People should be paid according to how many WTFAYS (what the fuck are you serious) and WTFAYN (what the fuck are you nuts) episodes they have to deal with per shift. By the same token, people causing the WTFAYS and WTFAYN episodes will have a cost per service/product multiplied by a factor of 20.

I remember seeing a sign in council office I was temping at once, mounted behind the front desk where the frontline staff member could see it, but the people who'd wandered in the door to talk to them couldn't: "In this job you are dealing with members of the public. Pay suggestions fall on deaf. I worked for IBM for 7 fucking years. Leaving Manassas, Va after a short stint in chip manufacturing (packaging) I transfered to OPD Office Prod. Div. (old baseline stuff) and into a branch office. BIG mistake. Egos and arrogance you could cut with a knife. I asked how it was that us 'contract administrators' got paid so little after all of our immensely detailed contribution each year into setting our terms for the Fed. Sup. Schedule (GSA) that only then and after dragging their feet for months (6 fucking mos. AFTER the beginning of the fiscal year) was it signed by GSA, did the lawyers get all of the credit AND the fucking money. We flat out didn't need the suits. I asked how it was that a salesman who could make quota with a phone on his nightstand checking in at 11 AM, could come by and 'demand' that I yes I, was supposed to provide him with a completely detailed list of all Mag Card Typewriters at Naval Sea Sys Comm. (155 of them) all serial #, features and length of installation etc., etc., he gets a $250,000 purchase order to buy them on which he made either 8 or 10% meaning $20-$25,000 and I didn't even get a fucking hand shake...let alone lunch ? Oh I made pay suggestions alright, so on my 7th anniversary told Ichabod Bonanza Mining to take their job and stuff it and got into real estate where the fucking money was.
