Vaguely related - though I'm not sure what political/religious implications are relevant: I did hear a story from a nurse once about a man who'd come in after using the horse-equivalent of Viagra. He'd had a stiffy for so long that it was becoming a serious medical problem. He was given a tranquiliser and admitted overnight so that his tumescence might subside under careful supervision. In the morning, he found that the bedclothes were pulled over to one side and that he was still sporting a fine upstanding one. Now, however, it was decorated with ribbons and somebody had made a little Union Jack out of a bit of paper and a cocktail stick and taped it to his 'summit'.

The overnight nurses came under suspicion, of course - but since nobody stepped forward as a witness, the culprit(s) were never found.

I would think a lot of that depends on the size of the penis engorged and the size of the cage, also the material.
Also the effect on the testicles being drawn up higher, and not comfortable in bed.....like waving a concrete brick around. You whack that baby or get elbowed or knee'd you are gonna feel it for some time.
the confinement usually causes some discomfort when an erection occurs, so an extended time wearing one would be fairly uncomfy if there are any holes in the cage, metal or plastic, is unforgiving, the silicone may give some, but not a lot.
Plus depending on what you are using, that first cock ring is hard enough to take off sometimes without viagra (as in subsiding erection is just not happening)
