When is the deadline to qualify for the first debate? Anybody know?

well the first one is scheduled for the 26th, so we are at two weeks away, and according to rules set out(or so I read) that candidates have to have reached 15 % in poll/s

CPD announced the dates and venues and its 2016 Nonpartisan Candidate Selection Criteria. Under the criteria, in addition to being constitutionally eligible, candidates must:

Appear on a sufficient number of state ballots to have a mathematical chance of winning a majority vote in the Electoral College.
Have a level of support of at least 15 percent of the national electorate as determined by five selected national public opinion polling organizations, using the average of those organizations' most recently publicly-reported results at the time of the determination.

Thanks, Lucy. I don't see any mention of a deadline in the article, tho.

I guess it's official now. Gary Johnson won't be in the first debate.

For comparison, at this point in the 1992 race, Ross Perot was polling around 8% with ballot access in 24 states. He finished (Can I finish?) with ballot access in every state and 19% of the popular vote. Johnson is currently polling at 8%-13% with ballot access in every state. That suggests around 20 million unrepresented voters. Our debate commission has failed us. It is bipartisan, but it should be nonpartisan.
