Hello,
I am a newbie to the group and thought I would improve my chances of interfacing with possible contacts by posting an introduction.
One thing that has jumped up immediately in a couple of conversations that I have had is the item of political persuasion.
I am a neo-conservative that came to that position long before the term was coined during the era between the Viet Nam war and the Clinton Administration.
My path was extensive reading of serious history, cuurent events and so on. I can provide a length list of works that I have read which I have compiled into a bibliography to remind myself. The point is that I came to this position after serious thought about the serious questions that were raised by the war, its vocal opponents (who were mostly correct in substance and with whom I agreed) and the very bad effects that it had on our country and its citizens.
I have noticed , to the degree that it manifests at all, that many of the submissives are fairly left in their politics and tend to be quite emotional about it. I have learned tolerance for the Left even as I consider it mistaken.
It does seem to me to be a real potential "deal breaker" , i.e., an insoluable difference between a D/ and an /s. I mean I don't want to be dissed because I have a legitimate world view which I earned the old fashioned way, i.e., by study and reflection and especially by someone, male or female, who seems to hold their view emotionally rather than objectively and considers it some sort of insult or serious negative if you don't agree.
Just some food for thought. Any reasoned replies?
