Termyn8or -> RE: Do you believe in aliens? (9/14/2016 6:03:43 AM)

Believing IN anything is for the stoooopid. I either believe it or I don't. It is highly unlikely that aliens have come here for two reasons. First of distance and the difficulties with faster than C travel. Even if the beat that problem, why the fuck would they come here ? If they are that intelligent, there is nothing here for them. Unless you think they are mining Antarctica for some shit we don't even know is there. And that takes alot of power and there is pretty much nothing that is worth it as far as we know. And there is no big hole in Antarctica. If aliens came here, and bore the cost of the trip which would be astronomical (pun anyone ?) the question is why. What for. you might watch Star Trek which is a wonderful series but the whole storyline assumes that aster than C travel is not only possible (I actually think it is) but that it is cheap enough to do just for the hell of it (which I believe it isn't). We have nothing for them. And if they came to teach us they would have revealed themselves, or, upon further study determined we aren't worth it or mature enough to handle their advanced technology. It is a nice fiction and a diversion, but the fact is that even in area 51 there are no aliens or bodies or alien craft. If anything, y super advanced technologies came from advanced but extinct or hidden societies on this planet. There is something that is possible. Just like those tribes in Africa and other places had never seen an airplane or a boat, these people were hidden to the majority of us. And for good reason, too many wars, the penchant for killing one another. They might well be living underground in Antarctica just to stay the fuck away from us. Or they could have died off. We cannot assume we are the first advanced race on the planet. Just because there are no bodies laying around that doesn't mean they could not have existed. What happened to the people who built that pyramid shaped building that was a calendar as well as a clock down south of here ? In fact how the hell did they build the pyramids ? And they figured out trigonometry and geometry without calculators. Do you now how to do a square root with a pencil and paper or are you just lost and do it by trial and error if you don't have an electronic calculator ? I do. and how were the trig tables derived ? Not by measurements, but by study and thought od the parameters of a circle. I just started studying that and had to return the book but it has all to do with fractions and buddy, the metric system does not work for that. The metric system is for people who can't "do" fractions. I am in the top ten percent, how would aliens find people like me. and if they know one goddamn thing about our governments they would NEVER EVER say "Take me to your leader", they would say "Keep me away from your leader". So even if they did come here you would never hear about it. There is a story a friend of mine told me about, he was trying to get the book but never did. It was about aliens, called Paladians who came here and talked with a guy who lived in the mountains somewhere, I think maybe Switzerland. They had no desire to have any contact with alot of people or the governments or the media, they just wanted to talk. I don't even believe that, but I can understand why, if it happened they did not want their presence to be made public. Take a movie like the original "Day The Earth Stood Still" ad think about it. the fear would make governments act that way. If someone can even get here with their technology, do you really think it is a good idea to surround their ship with tanks and try to burn it open with acetylene torches ? Well governments do. They also think they can piss off billions of people and nothing will happen. If aliens can get here they would stay in a high orbit and observe. After that they would just go home, or fid some old recluse in the mountains to talk to and then leave and never come back. If I could live somewhere off this planet that has beer I would be gone in a split second. T^T
