I took the munchmonster to a local business to purchase a purple and gold football jersey (Wylie School Colors GO DAWGS!) suitably sized for a 4 year old middle linebacker in training.
Now, this meant that he got his last name over the number on the back, and paw prints on the sleeves.
While we were there, a young couple (teenagers) were also purchasing shirts to mark their undying love for one another (which I initially estimated to be at most 3 months) but alas, their true love died on the vine.
You see, the woman behind the counter, who clearly had dealt with this young man in the past, asked simply:
"What is this one's name?"
Girl: what does she mean this one?
Woman: All our graphics are stored in the computer, under the customer, so I have to remove the old girl friend's name and put yours in its place."
Now, a fast, hard slap to the boys face and the young girl stormed out of the shop, dailing her phone for one of her parents to pick her up.
He followed her using the line. "they never meant anything to me."
I looked at the woman, and made the comment, "that was not very professional."
She smiled and replied: "No, it wasnt, but he dated both my grand daughters last year, at the same time. The only reason he did not get caught was they went to different schools."
I smiled, "after that bit of information, I would have done something a bit different."
She asked: What would you have done?
Me: Printed the shirt with an 'X' through the old name and hers printed underneath.
Her: I like your style.
Moral of the story:
In the great state of Texas, it is not wise to do daughters or grand daughters wrong.
