When was the last time you heard about a bad shooting by police of a white guy? So tired of blacks milking it for all it's worth.

The police death squads seem to have acquired a bit of a taste for this it lately.

MrRodgers never read the updates to that latest tragedy but happy enough to take you word on matters - she said, they said, eyewitness said.

Did I ever find the figures a few weeks ago.

I am also curious as to how many times a gun is drawn on officers - and I don't mean one of those I thought it was a gun jobbies

Welcome to the boards. Your avitar shows an elderly white boy so I will go with that.
If you think blacks have it so good then why don't you fake being black? The directions are in a book called "black like me" You can find it on amazon. Until you have done so your opinion is worth the price of used shit paper.

Police said the man, walking disoriented in the middle of the street, put his hands together as if holding something maybe a firearm they added and turned toward them. Police claimed he “rapidly drew an object from his front pants pocket, placed both hands together and extended them rapidly toward the officer taking up what appeared to be a shooting stance.”

It does appear to be a shooting stance. Quick, you have one second to decide what to do.

BTW, this is less than 5 miles from our house.

There is no record of him being mentally disabled. They did attempt to use a Taser.

Quick tell me how difficult it is to tell if it is a gun at that distance?
What would you call the distance???more than ten feet or less than ten feet?

Look at he photo from police video

As a former cop, I see someone take that stance and point anything at me when I was a cop, I would have dropped him as fast as I could squeeze the trigger.

Sorry people, but there is no way in hell that guy was not trying to get dropped.

As for shooting below the knee, as a poster stated from the UK, there is just a great a chance of hitting a major artery in the leg or even the arm and it being a fatal shot as firing center mass.

A person with a major arterial bleed can bleed out in 4 minutes or less.

And since this dumb ass took that stance, I dont give a flying fuck what the people in that city say, black, white or fucking purple, there is no officer anywhere in the United States that is going to hesitate waiting to find out if what is being pointed at him is a gun, or a vape device.

Or better yet, how about this?

We have officers wait to see if it really is a gun, and if it turns out to be a gun, then you go to that officers home, tell his widow and kids that he waited a split second too long to make fucking sure that guy was not armed, and it turned out that he was and now you get a nice funeral and a flag.

This was, with the pic as evidence, a clean shoot. And if the people in that community want to bitch and protest, every cop working there should fucking quit and tell those stupid fucks they are on their own.

Re the whole "shoot at the knee" thing, I'm astonished the Police over here are doing that. (I'm an old enough fart that I can remember the fuss about John Stalker and the "shoot to kill" order.) I was always led to believe that if you pull a gun on somebody, you're out to kill them, not wing them: if you don't want somebody dead, there's no point shooting at them. Nobody shoots a gun out of somebody's hand outside of a '50s western, and putting a bullet through somebody's chest or head is a much simpler and easier shot than trying to kneecap them. And that's even without the arterial issue you mention: I think you bleed out faster from the femoral artery artery getting nicked (and a bullet through the knee will do a lot more than just nicking it, I'm sure) than you do from the ones in your neck because gravity's working to exsanguinate you as well as your circulation. A tourniquet might possibly save your life in those conditions, but you'd lose your leg even if you didn't bleed to death.

This was, with the pic as evidence, a clean shoot. And if the people in that community want to bitch and protest, every cop working there should fucking quit and tell those stupid fucks they are on their own.

A few years ago, in Selma, a cop was accused of shooting an unarmed teenager who panicked when the cop showed up over a domestic disturbance.
A couple dozen "eye witnesses" swore the kid started runing and the cop shot him in the back.
The story started falling apart when they found that the kid was shot in the chest, as the cop said.
Crumbled more when they came from below, as the cop said.
Still more when it turned out he was shot with the cops backup weapon, as the cop said.
When the dash cam was released it showed that, as the cop said, the kid attacked him got his service weapon, shoved him down and tried to shoot him.
There was no round in the chamber and while the kid was trying to jack one into the chamber the cop pulled his backup and shot him till he fell down.
Two weeks after the dash cam was released the NAACP sponsored a march demanding that the cop be tried for murder, and the chief befired for refusing to take action against the cop.

This attitude happens any more every time there is a police envolved shooting.

Glad we can agree on that much at least. If you don't want to kill somebody, use a taser not a firearm.

How about a thought experiment ? How about this occuring in say Britain, Ireland, Norway, Iceland and New Zealand, officers are unarmed when they are on patrol. Police are only equipped with firearms in special circumstances.

Police officers there have saved lives exactly because they were unable to shoot.

"The practice is rooted in tradition and the belief that arming the police with guns engenders more gun violence than it prevents," Guðmundur Oddsson, an assistant professor of sociology at Northern Michigan University, told The Washington Post.

As the U.S. debates gun control and better policing, these five nations could teach some crucial lessons.

In Iceland, one third of all citizens are armed but police officers are not most of the time.

When police shot a man in Iceland in 2013, it was the first time police had used their firearms and killed a person in the history of this country, according to the Christian Science Monitor. Granted, Iceland is a tiny country with only 300,000 inhabitants.

However, one third of the country's population is armed with rifles and shotguns for hunting, making it the 15th most armed country per capita in the world. Despite this, crime is extremely rare.

Just a thought hey.

Over here, it's more a matter of demonstration. The Police turn up to empty a club at closing town with sticks, those need no demonstration to get through to even the most belligerent drunk. If they were armed as a matter of course, they'd have to shoot somebody to demonstrate that the guns aren't just for show.
The bulk of the British Police don't want to be armed while they're on their beat for that very reason. They can get a firearm team in place in a hurry, so why do they need to bother? It just makes it more likely that the trouble they're there to keep a lid will end with somebody getting killed when they intervene.

Hey, how about checking a simple fact of life in those countries.

The odds are that a cop in those countries are not going to come up against an armed perp.

In the US, the odds are about 2 out of 3 times the officer responding to a call is going to find an armed suspect in many of the urban areas.

Then there are god knows how many street gangs were to actually get in, you have to kill a cop.

Lets go a bit further.

So far, this year, 32 officers have been killed in the line of duty by guns this year.

Not many compared to the number people killed by police, true.

However, remember one thing, the police officers killed were wearing body armor, which meant that the round that was fatal either was a head shot OR punched through the body armor.

One other point to consider, the numbers.

14 of the officers killed so far this year have been ambushed.

7 checking out suspicious persons

5 in tactical situations

4 attempting arrest.

2 handling, transporting prisoners in custody.

Before the introduction of body armor, the average was 120 cops killed a year.

And mrrodgers wants us to consider disarming cops?

There were calls for bigger and better guns for cops after this

Funny thing is that nothing much has changed in what cops are allowed to carry as a side arm or rifles in the cruisers, and the reason why?

Because people are screaming that cops have too much firepower as it is.

Yeah, it is a terrible thing when an unarmed person is killed by a cop.

And yes the people have the right to be angry.

And yet, 14 officers were ambushed and murdered, and those same people protesting the deaths of unarmed men are keeping their mouths shut about the premeditated, cold blooded murder of police officers who were doing their job and were ambushed.

In point of fact, some of those protesters joining the black lives matter marches are calling for more cops to be killed.

So I have a solution.

Eliminate police forces in those places where even a single person carrying a black lives matter sign who calls for the killing of a police officer.

Eliminate the police force in any community where after it was proved that the person killed by police was armed, and exchanged fire with police, and they still want the officer fired and charged with a crime.

Eliminate police protection for any business that does not want cops to use that business.

Problem solved.

Don't assume a firing position, don't pull out a gun when the cops ask you questions, don't start fighting the police and grab a bun, that would be a great start.

Got a link for that?

Of course you don't, it's not in any police report or police chief presser, or police or witness accounts.
