Highlites: I know her and she'd make a good president." Donald Trump on Hillary Clinton, 2008.

Trump was right. If elected, Clinton will make a good president.

Focused. Serious. Even-tempered. Moderate. Tough. Upright. Incremental. Bipartisan.

As the U.S. senator from New York from 2001 to 2009 she often sought common ground with the right and found conservative Republican co-sponsors for more than half her bills.

She wasn't a liberal bomb-thrower or a talk-show gadfly, but a middle-of-the-road, shoulder-to-the-wheel policy wonk who won the respect of her colleagues and the affection of her constituents, who gave her 67 percent of the vote when she ran for re-election.

She was also widely popular when serving as U.S. secretary of state from 2009 to 2013, and has earned the support of dozens of former top GOP foreign policy advisers. Indeed, annual Gallup polls of American adults named her the most admired woman in the world from 2002 to 2015.

The right portray her as a harridan, a callous, lying traitor, an inauthentic, paranoid crook and a sickly crone who craves power and money. They howl that she ought to spend what few days she has left to live rotting in federal prison.

They know that she'll be a fearsome exponent for the sort of center-left Democratic policies that threaten the ability of the GOP to crawl out of the garbage fire set by the nativist jerk they nominated as their standard-bearer.

Whether Clinton has learned from these brushes with scandal is hard to say. But 25 years of being called a murderer, a criminal and words unfit for a family newspaper by her feverish foes on the right, have left her wary and unappealingly guarded.

If she wins, she will have survived political attacks that persuaded the public that she's less trustworthy than the most persistent, grandiose and unrepentant liar ever to seek public office. (Gee, I wonder who that could be ?)

If she wins, her victory itself will discredit the significance of the old attacks and provide insulation against the new ones.

One can suspect they (the right) know that, if elected, she'll be effective in trying to repair and expand Obamacare, not repeal it. She'll advance women's rights, push for a compromise resolution to the status of undocumented immigrants now in the United States, boost the federal minimum wage, raise taxes on the highest earners and get center-left justices confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court even if the Democrats don't retain control of the Senate.

And if so, she'll be hard to beat in four years.

It's that, not her wickedness or radicalism, which has them loudly, frantically denying perhaps the truest thing Donald Trump has ever said:

"She'd make a good president."

.....and why the right is terrified of a Clinton victory.

im sorry, what?? that's a joke on its face.

and half the other stuff written there isn't true either...except for this:

quote:

The right portray her [somewhat accurately] as a harridan, a callous, lying traitor, an inauthentic, paranoid crook and a sickly crone who craves power and money. They howl that she ought to spend what few days she has left to live rotting in federal prison.

is it possible to not be terrified of someone/something and instead, just be vehemently opposed to it because she's a social/political enemy?

seems like another good place to put this:

quote:

I am not a citizen of the world. I am not going to be part of your collective. I don’t respect the United Nations, international law or think any other culture compares favorably to our own. Don’t get me wrong: I respect the Brits, the Israelis, the Aussies and a few other nations that have built great legacies their children can be proud of, but they’re not America. We’re better than the rest of the world…or we used to be.

It doesn’t matter how many Americans are out of work or how many immigrants end up on welfare; we keep looking for ways to raise the level of immigration. It’s like a man who is drowning to death trying to find a way to get deeper underwater. Now, we spend most of our time trying to be more like nations that are poorer, weaker and less moral than we are while we encourage people who move here from inferior nations to hold onto their backward cultures.

When you say the culture of a nation like Mexico or Syria is inferior to the United States, that’s not being mean; it’s just a statement of fact. When you say Islam is a more primitive and violent religion than Christianity, that’s not an opinion; that’s a fact that everyone with eyes, ears and a brain already knows but doesn’t want to say out loud.

People don’t want to tell the truth because we live in a politically correct world full of liberal losers who are rewriting the rule books to benefit themselves.

Being part of the “elite” now has more to do with going to the right school and adhering to the right politically correct beliefs than it does with merit. We have people running government agencies who would never be able to cut it as a night shift manager at Denny’s.

“Compassion” now has nothing to do with actual compassion. Missionaries, pastors and people who toil endlessly helping the homeless or poor families aren’t given as much credit as pundits calling for new big government legislation or even morons tweeting how much they care about some “famous” lion they never heard of before getting shot.

Middle class Americans who play by the rules are treated as piggy banks for the lazy, ignorant and unskilled. Their concerns are ignored by a lawless government they live in fear of offending. Even “winning” a case against the EPA or some zoning board financed by their own tax dollars can be expensive and take years. Any society where the citizens fear the government instead of the government fearing the citizens is an oppressive society, no matter how loudly the politicians proclaim their love of freedom.

I don’t respect liberals who seem to be obsessed with impressing people with how “kind” and “sensitive” they are by taking up the latest trendy cause that no one really cares about. It’s cheap and easy to natter on about “gay rights,” “Islamophobia,” “racism” or talk about how much “guns” worry you. The more useless you actually are to society and the less you accomplish, the easier it is to pretend that smearing other people in the name of fighting some “ism” is a courageous, noteworthy endeavor, as opposed to worthless prattling designed to make yourself look good to other simpletons.

If only….if only the people going on about gay rights had to raise their kids next to a gay bathhouse in San Francisco. If only the white liberals who think guns are terrible and who believe every problem black Americans have is caused by racism had to move to inner city Chicago. If only the people who decry any attempt at holding back radical Islam as “Islamophobia” had to live somewhere like Pakistan or Saudi Arabia for a year.

It’s always some over-protected, coddled cretin who thinks he’s both a misunderstood genius and a victim complaining about the people who are working hard, paying their own way, who just want to be left alone to live their lives without interference.

Maybe it’s selfish, but I’d love to see Texas secede from the United States so those of us with our heads screwed on right would have a place to go after liberals ruin this country. The United States is on that same highway to Hell as the Greeks, Romans and Brits. Because of liberalism, Americans will one day look back at a once great nation, despair at how far they’ve fallen and know in their souls that our civilization will never reach those storied heights again. If liberals weren’t so ignorant, selfish and self-absorbed, they’d be down on their knees apologizing for what they’re doing to future generations in our country.

http://townhall.com/columnists/johnhawkins/2016/07/02/i-am-never-going-to-be-a-part-of-your-sick-liberal-worldview-n2186492

maybe that's a good (better?) explanation as to why half the country doesn't want her?

Its nowhere near half, and Texas seceding from the union would turn it into a wastland, they would first have to pay back their years of red welfarism, before they were nuked.

Well Texas would lose all of their fat agriculture and fossil fuel subsidies. Can't have that. Same reason Quebec didn't actually go ahead and leave Canada.

But yet, all politicians are liars, and your nominee, especially is just as bad, and you still cannot prove what you are so desperate to prove even after 86 pages of paranoid frenzy.
Sickly crone? LMFAO yeah she got pneumonia...she certainly didnt look as sick as donald did after the debate....
I do notice the sexist pig creeping out, but thats par for the course with a lot of rws, and nothing shocking. Donald speaks for a lot of them. be proud!!!

The "libertarian" is almost as bad.
Your party has nominated the ultimate nightmare, and is falling apart.
But hillary is the cause of it all.

By the way comrade
did you catch fox news with the real debate results????
according to their own polls? http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/09/30/fox-news-poll-clinton-ahead-trump-after-debate-fear-motivating-both-sides.html

Do you think donald is prepared and able to do the job??

How do you feel about republicans Over-riding the presidents veto on JUSTA??
And how just now they are realising they should have read it and understood it, before well a) passing it, and b) knowing what exactly they were vetoing?
Now they seem to be wanting to blame obama for not telling them more forcefully. Oh and re write it so they can erase the "problems"
What a bunch of dingbats.

Unfortunately the tar and feathering has commenced and they are about 48% and 47% in the polls, pre-debate, so it is working. the mad un- likeable untrustworthy olde crone is the solitary mode of attack and the odd sugar coating with that 2nd amendment garbage and calling her a murderer (why did they call her that again)

Over here they called it project fear at the Scottish referendum, and it worked, and they did the same in the BREXIT perhaps to a slightly lesser effect and it worked. Shameful.

Do people have free will iz wonders ive come across many who hold dear "spin" made up malarkey with not one singular ounce of truism ad they lack the capacity to differentiate.

Are all politicians liars who said that? lucylastic Probably most, by no means all, perhaps they should be held accountable given the stakes are so high - running a nation influencing global stratagems, improving, or crushing, peoples lives.

I think they are more terrified that their candidate might win. Which is why many are coming out endorsing her.

It applies well, you as a retard, however; are not associated with that word. You can apply felchgobbler to yourself, no need to look it up, everybody knows you are one.

Who used the word cogent that you found it necessary to set off in quotes?

If you could speak English, they would not find you "cogent", you would fail.
If you were working at an English speaking place, you would be fired.

She'd make a better President than Trump... but then again, so would I.

It's not a high bar to clear.

The rest is nonsense. Clinton is a self-interested corrupt politician who doesn't give a toss about the people of the US. Trump doesn't either, but he's too thick to understand what's happening most of the time.

How long after texas secedes from the union do you think it would take for mexico to reclaim it and deport all of the illegal aliens there?

This is why they're terrified of a Clinton victory. The Supreme Court will be taken out of conservative hands for a generation. That's why so many Republicans (think of Paul Ryan or John McCain) are holding their noses and endorsing Trump.

We will probably look back on Scalia's death as a major turning point in American politics.

Why do you think that not liking someone or not wanting them to win has to mean you are terrified of them winning? While I make no secret of the fact that I don't like hill, if she wins it won't be the end of the world. We lived through her husband as potus and we can live through 4 yrs of her. Same thing if trump wins, nothing to be terrified about. But perhaps it's you that is terrified that your candidate won't get in and you are merely projecting.

Oh and I am not surprised that he said good things about her before the race began. They run in the same circles and their kids are friends. Those 1%ers gotta stick together. Well unless they run against each other, then not so much.

Which leads to me to ask, do you really want a POTUS that would associate with the clown?
