VicTimized -> Proper place for Pro Domme reviews? (10/3/2016 10:07:48 AM)

Before I proceed ahead and actually provide a review I thought it might be prudent to ask whether this is the proper forum in which to post a review (positive, by the way) of a Pro Domme. Is this the right place, or is that more of a "marketplace" sort of thing?

Thanks! VT

There isn't a forum here for folks to act as shills for pro doms. Maybe try Yelp?

This site doesn't have personal reviews and there is no section to do so; good or bad.

Go post on her website..she would probably appreciate it.

Ah, that's too bad. Like any other profession there are the good, the bad and the mediocre providers, and sharing information is often the best way to distinguish between them and provide for the most informed decision making.

And that's hardly being a shill stef. But I am not interested in getting into a debate about the merits of the services provided by Pro Dommes here. People seem to have their own strongly held beliefs, and words are unlikely to change those.

stef -> RE: Proper place for Pro Domme reviews? (10/3/2016 11:18:01 AM)

The merits of the services provided by pros isn't the issue here; the advertising is. When someone with zero posting history suddenly appears to extol a pro's service, it makes people wonder about the source and the pressure behind it. We've had our fair share of folks we've never seen before being sent here in order to please their "Mistress" or gain favor with them by making similar posts so forgive us if we have a fair bit of skepticism regarding your motives.

At any rate, there are already sites like Max Fisch dedicated to things like this, so that might be a better place for such info.

The reverse is also true - blacklisting is prohibited and we would question those motives as well.

If she's on here then Positive Experiences. Of course, most people will think you're a sock so I don't know how much good it will do.

Not if she's a pro.

VicTimized -> RE: Proper place for Pro Domme reviews? (10/3/2016 3:53:42 PM)

There is a presumption imbedded there that relationships are of a binary quality only, i.e., that you can have either a personal or a professional relationship with a Domme, but not both, or similarly that if a woman works as a Pro Domme she doesn't have non-professional friends and play relationships.

It's a huge fallacy and informed largely by systemic bias against those involved in professional provision of adult entertainment services.

I count among my "scene" friends a number of women who provide, on a full or part time basis, Pro Domme services.

I've also found, generally, that Pro Dommes give a lot back to the D/s community and are pretty generous with their time at events, workshops, demos, play labs, etc.

But I am cynical of the ability of board ramblings to convince anyone of anything. It's one of the reasons that when I came back to CS after the collapse of CM I haven't been back on the discussion boards.

Well, here's the view of the ownership of this website. You get to use it for free, but if you want to advertise beyond your profile, you need to pay for it...because you're doing it at his expense.

So regardless of your view about bias - it's his living room and he gets to decide how it gets used.

VicTimized -> RE: Proper place for Pro Domme reviews? (10/3/2016 5:08:29 PM)

Yep, that's why I asked first. Regardless of whether you think someone is wrong or not, they usually stick with their positions once declared, and time is too valuable to spend trying to make things otherwise or complain about it.

I think they just don't want the forum to become a dumping ground of thinly veiled pro dom ads posted by "satisfied customers".

VicTimized -> RE: Proper place for Pro Domme reviews? (10/3/2016 5:52:41 PM)

And I recognize that is a legitimate concern as well, and way too difficult to try to police.

So fair enough, wrong place for such things.

I don't think anyone here is disagreeing with you on whether or not Pro-Dommes contribute to the D/s community. I know plenty of Pros (including myself) that are also lifestyle and have personal relationships.

But there is a time and a place and this is definitely not the place. This is a lifestyle forum. There are forums dedicated to Pro-Dommes. If you are trying to help your Domme gain business, utilizing one of those forums is probably the best thing you can do for her as the target audience are men looking for Pro-Dommes. The men that come to this forum are most definitely not seeking a Pro-Domme encounter. For reference, please see the buttload of rants on findommes/prodommes/tributes/fakes, etc.etc.

Writing a review here on a Pro-Domme is kind of like going into a Honda car dealership and asking for an army tank.

I haven't been on Maxfisch in a while but that is one of the most recgonized and well known Pro-Domme forums. You can also try out Domina.ms and if you search FetLife, I think there are a few groups as well.

Yeah, shame that Yelp doesn't review Dommes.

Actually, Yelp does review dungeons so they kind of counts, right?

As someone mentioned, Maxfisch is the best place to post a genuine review. You can also submit it to her website or directly to her email, and on various fetlife groups.

Diffident -> RE: Proper place for Pro Domme reviews? (10/7/2016 6:00:54 AM)

I really don't like the layout of Maxfisch at all. Very user-unfriendly. For UK based Dommes I would say that http://mistressreview.com is the best one, both for reading reviews and for posting them. It's also the one that most of the UK Dommes that I've seen link from their websites.

sinstress666 -> RE: Proper place for Pro Domme reviews? (10/10/2016 12:58:40 AM)

I will third that Maxfisch is a great place for reviews. The erotic review is more escort based but allows Domme reviews. All Star Dommes is a smaller base but useful. Cheers.
