Not in the 1950s. After all it is 2016 and Justin Trudeau told us so.
The Democratic party started spin doctoring their image in the late 1960s but the old money elite that think it is their duty to dictate to the unwashed masses are still in charge. Still in charge are the same families that supported the KKK, National Socialism, and universal eugenics still put forth their hand picked and groomed political shills. The DNC has not changed anything but the spin doctored face of the party. Both major political parties need voting out of office if anything is going to improve.

He also got you into Cambodia beforehand, mind. Still, you could take that as meaning that he started a second failed occupation so he could stop two for the price of one.
That said, he did massively reduce the vast amounts of money that had pissed away on NASA since Kennedy got into his pissing match with Kruschev over the moon as well. Of course, some elements of the neo-feudalist right think that's a bad thing, rather than a point in his favour, to the extent that they tend to insist it was Carter who pulled the plug on NASA's 'Sixties spending levels rather than Nixon and his exoneratorsuccessor Ford.
