ORIGINAL: Nnanji Competent at what? Selling the Lincoln bedroom? Selling access to friends on Wall Street that's put over a hundred million dollars in their control since Bill left office? Blowing up the Middle East? A reset with Russia? Relations with China and Nort Korea? Just exactly what competency are you suggesting is valuable? And here we go with the 'sins of the Clintons' defense... ethics are not the same thing as competence. You can make unethical decisions in a rational way-- appeasing those with power can create relationships that can be useful politically. I don't like it, but it seems like a lot of these decisions were at least made after careful consideration and in the best interests of everyone who has power. Trump has zero real experience in the realm of politics so appears 'cleaner' to people who don't care about things like paying taxes or ethical business practices... but that doesn't mean that giving him the power to play in the political arena is suddenly going to make him a great leader, co-operative person or someone who isn't concerned only with his own selfish interests. Until now he's simply been too much of a joke and an asshole for anyone to ever consider dealing him in, but he's not suddenly going to become an upstanding, respectable, selfless person after becoming president. In fact, he'll only get worse. But there's always a chance that he's too stupid and full of himself to even do corruption right. He has already alienated so many big players, turned so many people against him that they would go out of their way to screw or otherwise humiliate/expose him. He would be the most powerless president in history... with practically everyone in Washington doing all they can to get him impeached, stripped of his power and/or OUT of there ASAP. His incompetence is evident in his ridiculous statements about border walls that foreign countries have to pay for, banning Muslims and starting a trade war with China. These are not the kind of ideas that adults have. Anyone who paid attention in high school history courses knows that these are the kind of ideas reserved for Bond villains who simply want to wreak havoc for personal gain... though in Trump's case, the havoc would be wrought due to stupidity alone. He's like the paranoid losers who also think that sending everyone with AIDS to an island is such a glaringly obvious way to stop the spread of the disease that the only reason it hasn't been tried is because of a liberal conspiracy, or that global warming is a plot to ruin the economy and establish a new world order run by the Illuminati or lizard people or something. These are not rational ideas, they are rooted in anger and fear... possibly even group psychosis. Nobody who is not afraid, angry, ignorant or insane could ever support Trump. Nobody with a rational mind could ever admit that he would be a good leader. He's popular with some people because they think he's 'different', but they don't push their brains further on that point and never ask themselves about whether or not his brand of 'different' makes any sense. He is terrible in every conceivable way... and this is pretty much the only election I can think of where there is only one possible choice. I couldn't even bring myself to vote Green like I usually do-- Romney, McCain (not Palin or Bush)... whatever, they're still somewhat worthy of my respect even if I don't agree. But this time the GOP has fucked up so badly that I'm too scared not to vote for Hillary.
