I recently came upon the film "The Hunting Ground", and since I am not an American it prompts me to ask some questions. The film attempts to prove that in some well known universities in the US there is a rape culture, mostly rooted in freshmen organisations, and an absolute politic in the universities administrations to hush this up for economical reasons.

I would like to ask the Americans if you believe this is true, why is yes and why not if not, and why on earth universities?

I would like to ask non-American if such is the case in your countries.

Thanks.

If you look up Steubenville, Ohio you might find something interesting. The local police and government covered up a bunch of rapes by the local football team. Other things too, the team was allowed to drink underage at some bars and the local government also provided them with illegal drugs, including date rape drugs.

This is one instance, and shit like this is like cockroaches, if you see one you have a hell of alot more of them.

But don't go by US movies to get any true picture of what goes on in real life in the US. The writers are aloof and very much detached from normal life, sort of like the politicians. If you want to see it through fiction you are almost better off watching The Simpsons.

There are places like Steubenville all over and the same shit can happen there. And ot only are there Muslim countries where rape is practically legal, there is also white slavery. They kidnap White girls and sell them to Emirs and Sheiks and whatever they have in the Orient and they are subdued mentally and brought to believe that this is their life now. It is the art of real intimidation, and they are masters at it, no pun intended.

It is hard to get any information about this because people are threatened with great harm if they don't keep their mouth shut. Once in a great while someone talks. Even then it might be covered up.

Know why USians want guns ? Most of the crime here not only is unsolved, it is unreported. This country is breeding criminals like rats. You read about a shooting, REALLY, at least 80 % of the tie the guy had it coming. This is a sick society and I don't have the cure even if they would take it. They like it. When I was younger I liked the life. Even now I don't care about what is legal or not but I am a law abiding Citizen now. I just don't feel like doing anything illegal at the moment. When I do the law is not stopping me, I will get away with it. :-)

But I would never rape anyone. That deserves the death sentence. That is the act of an animal, no matter if it can talk and do math. Being a Man is in the mind. There are things you do not do. Show me a rape gang and give me a gun and they will be gone and I will not lose a minute sleep over it. Just dangerous animals to be put down.

to tack onto kirata's thoughts, theres a fair deal of the opposite (of the premise of the op) going on---accusations are as good as convictions and the accused, relative to their standing at school, are denied legal counsel and treated without due process.

there used to be a popular feminist trope going around that "all men are rapists."

Rape does occur but it occurs less on campus than it does in the general community. Allegations of rape culture on campus are nonsense. It's just more blatantly unsubstantiated hysteria from the man-hating feminist lobby.

once again it falls directly into the lap of non other than gubblemint.

Welcome to the NATIONAL ALLIANCE TO END VETERAN SUICIDEĀ®

The Department of Veterans Affairs estimates that 20-22 Veterans per day die from suicide. This is one loss every 65 minutes, totaling 8,030 deaths per year, nearly 20 percent of all suicides in the United States. The biggest age spikes are around 60 years old (our Vietnam era Veterans) and 18-25 (our recent Veterans).

why? because they were having such a good time drinking and partying or found themselves in situations where they were forced to commit atrocities they could not bear to live with?

But then there is a bright side

The ones who were able to kill their conscience to get through it have now rejoined our civilian population.
