I trust assange as much as I do hills, trump, or kelly anne conway

WhoreMods -> RE: Julian Assange interviewed by John Pilger (11/5/2016 3:57:07 PM)

You think the circus peanut might have promised not to extradite him to Sweden if he helps him get elected?
(By several accounts the Ecuadorians are sick and tired of having him stink up their embassy.)

I gave up. He has no credibility at all now. wikileaks is so tainted, its radioactive. I was keeping an eye on it but I started to get a tic.

He says that Russia has nothing to do with this, then goes on Russian tv. Nothing questionable about that.

This whole election cycle has stunk, and has done nothing for my opinion on our political system. But fuck this interference from other countries.

Ja, yank the rapist out of that embassy, and ship him to stand trial, fuck that shitweasel.

It's been a PET scan of the body politic, revealing multiple malignancies.

Yes. Thanks for posting it dcnovice.

At first glance Assange and Trump are unlikely bedpartners - ideologically they are oceans apart. It appears that the only things they have in common are antipathy towards Clinton (for widely different reasons) and an apparently mutually favourable relationship with Putin.

Assange's attempts to become a major player in the US election are bound to antagonise his own support base, few of whom could be accused of being fans of Trump. Nor do those attempts appear to be particularly well thought through. If Clinton wins, Assange's hopes of a change of heart towards him in Washington will be somewhere between zero and nought. If Trump wins, there's no guarantee of a more favourable attitude and given Trump's own base, unikely to be much sympathy for Assange's situation. If Assange's own base see his actions as helpful in getting Trump installed in the White House, their reaction is not likely to mild and meek. Assange might find that his support base evaporating overnight if Trump wins.

So, irrespective of who wins the US election, Assange's upside appears somewhat limited while his downside risks are significant. The damage to Assange's reputation and standing with his base may prove difficult to repair. Unless some kind of 'understanding' has been brokered, it looks like a lose-lose for Assange.

Assange's base is already evaporating. His current grovelling to the circus peanut and the Russian with his (much bigger) hand up the shitgibbon's arse is a desperate attempt to find a new one. As you say, it's not working very well, but the Ecuadorian embassy staff have already warned him that if he's caught snooping around their offices or going through their bins again he'll be thrown out to deal with the Swedes, and he's a desperate attention-junky, so what else would you expect from him?

There was a piece in the NYT essentially clarifying the difference between a whistle-blower and being an anarchist -- saying Assange if more of the later due to his lack of curation.

WikiLeaks Isn't Whistleblowing

WhoreMods -> RE: Julian Assange interviewed by John Pilger (11/6/2016 6:56:16 AM)

Good article, but where does it mention anarchy? Assange is not an anarchist in any way shape or form. You could make a claim for him being a libertarian, I suppose, but he wouldn't recognise voluntary co-operation even if it bummed him without lube.

MrRodgers -> RE: Julian Assange interviewed by John Pilger (11/6/2016 8:20:40 AM)

Hillary Clinton 'eaten alive by her own ambitions.' Good line.

It is also common knowledge that both Bushes benefited very nicely by being financially in direct investments of the Bin Laden family in turning their million$ into billion$ with the Carlyle Group, an investment firm with the greatest portfolio of defense contractors and just as the Saudis where buying billion$ worth of their shit !!

Then there's Geo. Shultz and the Bechtel Co. during Reagan and [his] being SoS getting billion$ in contracts to build Saudi defense infrastructure.

Then there is Haliburton getting a no-bid contract in Iraq just as Chaney was VP and CEO during the war. The company was given $39.5 billion in Iraq-related contracts over the past decade, with many of the deals given without any bidding.

So...what else is new ?
