mrsincere -> Authenticity rating (11/5/2016 3:37:55 PM)

This site needs some sort of system to gauge the 'authenticity' of a user. Especially when (in my experience anyways) the vast majority of users turn out to be fake or scammers.

I would propose something like Ebay's 1-100% system. A new account will start out with a very low score, and build score over time through activity.

User's should also be able to rate/review each other, so this will give you a much better idea of authenticity.

It has been suggested a million different times and debated about how to logistically make it happen just as many times. Short answer is its not going to happen, unless you want the same fakes and scammers to be the ones rating your authenticity.

It's a problem on every dating site you come across, vanilla or kink, and will continue to be. Because there is no way to guarantee that the fakes and scammers can't game the system the same way they are now.

Not as long as I'm here. If you really have a desire to see how "authentic" I am, I'll be at the kink club in an hour. If you, or anybody else doesn't want to risk being outed, I'll stand by that, too.

Your morbid curiosity about how "real" someone is just doesn't stack up on the priority scale about people risking their jobs, their homes, or their children.

Wanna meet real people? Get your lazy ass out and go to a munch. They won't all be great people, but they will at least be less than plastic.

Orrrr...you can just use common sense when it comes to talking to people online.

Because no one would use this to soothe a vendetta fueled erection.

Your inability to exercise discernment is none of the site's business.

WhoreMods -> RE: Authenticity rating (11/5/2016 6:11:46 PM)

What'd they ban your account for, WD? Should I be worried?

DesFIP -> RE: Authenticity rating (11/5/2016 6:23:20 PM)

If there was such a system, the op would fail it. Declaring that you have no expectations, no must haves or deal breakers. That's not real or sincere.

You would have more success finding a partner if you were honest.

And yes, what Lady P said. Get yourself to a munch and make friends who do find you to be honest and sincere.

Or be realistic and change your username to insincere.

I know, right?

I'd go into more detail, but I have to take the beef roast out of the oven and prep a sandwich for my inauthentic Master. [:D]

WickedsDesire -> RE: Authenticity rating (11/6/2016 6:31:06 AM)

I am all for the photo verification system and free cake. And a tick box so I may block, never see, all who are not....shame to lose all hose hot lesbians with the stolen pictures and those wretched scammers in need of rent money and cash for a shot of penicillin to subdue the more virulent strain of the mad rabies.

Especially when (in my experience anyways) the vast majority of users turn out to be fake or scammers. whilst I agree with that the problem with your proposal is that you can have fakes rate fakes liars rate liars etc - actually wasn't ebay/amazon accused of exactly that/similar. You will never able to moderate for a liar, bad stereotype etc

One site in the UK does have this system - so at least when you talk to someone that calls itself women you are sure that it is a women and not some dude. But at the end of the day you cannot really mod for married and cheating and waffle

Now, is it the busiest site in the UK it may well be and its a "swingers site" And that is the reason it is busier than all - not sure if it beats pof it may well do.

needlesandpins -> RE: Authenticity rating (11/6/2016 7:42:30 AM)

I know someone that uses the site WD is speaking of. He's verified as genuine, and yet he has several different accounts on that site, says he's a smoker on one, which he is, a heavy smoker at that, but claims to be a non smoker on another. In fact he has a habit of having several different accounts, deleting accounts, and then making new ones like he's never been there before, and misleading people in to what he actually is on most of the sites he uses.

So, genuine is as genuine does. You can have people hold up a piece of paper in front of their naked bodies with their screen name to prove what sex they are. You can have other account names tell you they've met this person, and fucked them if you like. You could read bad reports about people from those that have been rejected, I mean every woman on here would have a ton of those, or you could just do things the old fashioned way.

Mind you, that verification system did prove very useful for me, but not in the way the person using it would have hoped.

WhoreMods -> RE: Authenticity rating (11/6/2016 7:57:14 AM)

It's debatable how much verification the piece of paper thing actually provides now that there are image editing programmes not much worse than GIMP and Photoshop you can run on your phone, come to that. Better than a tablet, at least, though.

(Bear in mind that I always thought an "authenticity rating" is a non-bridge officer on Star Trek who confirms that any orders the Enterprise receives have come from Starfleet rather than somewhere else pretending...)
