MercTech -> Floating Offshore Nuclear Reactor (11/7/2016 8:44:36 AM)

This concept has me cringing a bit but China is going ahead. Hopefully they will outsource quality control given the Chinese reputation for great innovation but poor product consistency.

It will sure be about as unsinkable as Titanic

And how is this different from the nuclear powered submarines, aircraft carriers and cruisers built by the US, Russia (Soviet Union) and France ?

You really can't work that one out for yourself?? [8|]

isnt that the idea?

Hell clean tesla tech was proven to work in the late 1800's and thanks to business we prefer to contaminate the world instead.

and what about all those mushroom clouds from nukes detonated underwater

WickedsDesire -> RE: Floating Offshore Nuclear Reactor (11/7/2016 5:57:00 PM)

Came down stairs for a glass of water and some Hg etc The water cycle is truly amazing...well, bar that horizontal rain thing we have here from time to time.

I don't actually see a difference between floaty time-bomb portable-generator as opposed to all the nuclear powered bath toys - whats a sub 100 MW or something - perhaps as high as 300ish MW for the destroyer The new Bechtel A1B reactor for the CVN 21 class is smaller and simpler, requires fewer crew, and is yet far more powerful than the Nimitz-class A4W reactor. Two reactors will be installed on each Ford-class carrier, each one capable of producing 300 MW of electricity, triple the 100 MW of each A4W.[26][27]

Median for land based reactor probably 1000-1500MW

Anyone got a rough idea of whats floating about now total wise, in the partially wrecked oceans?
