Well, I just got back from voting, and to call the experience interesting would be an understatement. No, there was no one out front campaigning for some candidate, nor were there any signs for anyone for 4 miles around the polling location. What was was interesting was when I signed in, I over heard a couple of the election judges talking, and one phrase stuck with me. "In my entire voting life, I have never felt that in voting for president I had to make a choice between being shot in the head or fed to sharks." I have to agree. In my opinion, neither is ethically, morally or intellectually qualified to be president. Hell, neither of them should be elected trash collector. But, that is the nature of the system we have. If you are ethically, morally and intellectually qualified to be elected as a member of government, those very things makes the thought of running for office repugnant. One man put the summed up the American political system in this way, "It dont matter if you are pure as the driven snow when you are elected, as soon as you win the election, you have been rolled in a manure pile." With two powerful political parties, there is really no choice. It is not like other countries where a combination of weaker parties can form a workable coalition government. Here we have one of two choices, and this year, neither of them are good.
